By a Patent dated 1 February 1846, Ebenezer Bluuck received title to the SW1/4 of the SE1/4 of Section29 in Township 4 North of Range 14 East, in the District of Sunus?, containing 40 acres.

Hiram is Ebenezer's younger brother who was apparently living with the family after the death of his stepmother, Sally Bullock, in 1850. Emma is their daughter Emma Jane Bullock [Bartlett] who was born 31 January 1850. The daughter Jane, who would have been born in about 1847, apparently died as she is not found in the 1860 Census.

18 In 1888, Ebenezer Bullock's only surviving child, his daughter Emma Jane Bullock Bartlett and her family, left Rock County, Wisconsin, for California, never to return. She later died in 1902 in Salem, McCook County, South Dakota.

6 The Wednesday, 11 March 1896, edition of the Sioux City [Iowa] Journal carried the following death notice:
Death of Ebenezer BullockMadison, S.D., Leader [Newspaper], 7: Ebenezer Bullock, who was taken away from here [Madison, SD] a month or so ago to Sioux City [Iowa] for treatment, died there [in Sioux City, IA] last night of dropsy. Mr. Bullock had been a resident of Madison [SD] for about three years [about 1893 to 1896], being interested in the creamery here [Madison, SD] with his brother Samuel [Bullock]. The latter [Samuel] departed for Sioux City today and says he will take the remains to Johnston, near Milton, Wisc., for interment. Deceased was 72 years of age and leaves a wife [Emma Wood Vaughn Bullock] here [in Madison, SD] and a daughter [Emma Jane Bullock Bartlett] in [Fairbury] Nebraska.

Ebenezer Bullock, deceased. Notice of day appointed for proving of will. The State of South Dakota sends greeting to:
Emma Bullock, widow of deceased, and
Emma Bullock, daughter of deceased, and any other heirs next of kin of Ebenezer Bullock, deceased. Pursuant to an order of said court made on the 26th day of March, A. D. 1896, notice is hereby given that Wednesday, the 8th day of April, A. D. 1896, at 4 o'clock p. m. of said day, at the office of the county judge, at Madison, in the county of Lake, S. D., have been appointed as the time and place for proving the will of said Ebenezer Bullock, deceased, and for hearing the application of Samuel Bullock for the issuance to him of
letters testamentary, when and where any person interested may appear and contest the same. Witness, the Hon. J. H. Williamson, judge of the county court, and the seal of said court this 26th day of March, A. D. 1896, at his office in the city of Madison, county of Lake, state of South Dakota.
