    Voluntown, New London County, Connecticut
    ---------------------------------------------------------
Robert was the son of Duncan Campbell and Mary McCoy, originally of Argylleshire, Scotland, then Ulster, Ireland. He was married to Janet Stewart/Stuart and they had six children, all born in Tyrone, Ireland. They were Charles, born about 1696 (married to Mary Stuart, born about 1678); John, born about 1698; Sarah, born about 1700; Mary, born about 1702; James, born about 1704; and Robert, born about 1706 or 1709. Robert and Janet and their children immigrated to Boston in 1714 with Rev. Samuel Dorrance, a Presbyterian Minister. While in Boston, they probably visited the Duncan and Susanne Campbell family, who were married in Boston in 1685 (Chldren: William born 1687, Archibald born 1689, Matthew born 1691, Susanne born 1696, and Agnes born 1699). The Bostonians would not sell land to the Immigrants, so they moved on to New London, CT, where Robert lived for 8 years, moving to Voluntown in May 1722 until his death.**
