John Darling was the 9th of 10 children born to David and Melia (Veazy) Darling. David, son of Ebenezer Darling was born in 1847, probably in Glocester, Rhode Island, and died 11 Oct., 1823 in North Adams, Berkshire Co., MA., aged 76 yrs. David was a blacksmith by trade, and emigrated to Massachussetts from Rhode Island. Melia, daughter of Eleazar Veazy, was born abt. 1748 and died 28 Nov., 1821, in North Adams, Massachussetts, aged 73.
John died on board ship off the coast of California and was buried at sea.
John was married three times:
