Mae was born on circa 1887 in Washington.
2 She married
Elverton William Sweet, son of
George Aurealuis Sweet and
Eleanor Eudora Shepard, circa 1904. The 1930 census lists Marion's age at first marriage as 20, which would have been in about 1917; it does not list Elverton's age at first marriage. Perhaps she was not the mother of Elinore Sweet, born in in about 1906?
3,2 Mae P.??? and
Elverton William Sweet appeared on the census of 1910 in Wellington Precinct, Benton County, Washington, which lists Elverton W. Sweet, 26, born in South Dakota, his wife Mae [Mar?] P. Sweeet, 23, born in Washington, father born in Illinois, mother born in Minnesota; and their daughter Eleanor, 5, born in Washington. It was their first marriage, and they had been married for 6 years (since about 1904). She had given birth to one child, still living.
4 In the 1920 census, Marian A. Sweet's father is listed as being born in Ohio and her mother as being born in England. Her age in the 1920 census is given as 22, which would make her born in about 1898. However, the daughter, Elinore A. Sweet, is listed as 14 years old in 1920. That would make Marian only 8 years old at the time of Elinore's birth. Therefore, either Marian is not Elinore's mother or Marian's age (and hence her estimated birth date) is wrong. Perhaps Marian was actually 32 in 1920 which would make her born in in 1888. Her husband, Elverton W. Sweet, was 37 in 1920.
Mae P.??? and Elverton William Sweet appeared on the census of 1920 in 145 Maple Street, Edmonds, Snohomish County, Washington, which lists Elverton (misspelled as "Edveston") W. Sweet, 37, born in South Dakota, father born in New York and mother born in Iowa; his wife Marion A., 22 [sic, probably 33], born in Pennsylvania, father born in Ohio and mother born in England; and a daughter, Elinore [sic?] A. Sweet, 14, born in Washington. They apparently lived in rented quarters near (or perhaps with) Elverton's parents, G.A. Sweet and Elinore Shepard Sweet.
