June 21, 1951 - February 5, 2014 CASHION Gary Alan Houghton went to be with The Lord on February 5, 2014 at the age of 62. He was born on June 21, 1951 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Harry and Kathleen Houghton. Following his graduation from Edmond Memorial High School, Gary attended Central State University and, shortly after, began his 40-year career as an insurance adjustor. With his servant's heart and willingness to help others, this proved to be a natural fit. However, Gary's greatest passion was his love for his Savior and his family. What began as a casual acquaintance between Gary and Carol blossomed into holy matrimony in April 1976. Six years later, they began raising a family. From birthdays to family vacations, they made cherished memories. With his gentle spirit, Gary taught his children to live in love and welcome others with an open heart. Gary will always be remembered as a kind, thoughtful, and loving husband, father, and golfer. His cheerful demeanor will be missed here on earth and welcomed in Heaven. A celebration of Gary's life will be held on Saturday, February 8th, at 11:00am at Heritage Baptist Church - 14317 N. Council Road, Oklahoma City, OK 73142.

Michael Hooten: I am descended from Thomas Hooton 1752-1841, who served in the American Revolution. My line of Hootons living in Indiana in the mid 1800s indicated that the family was from England and the name was originally Houghton. My line back to Thomas is well established, but have not personally been able to validate any claims as to Thomas' Father. I would be curious to know if I am connected to any of the lines you have researched.¹
