SPRINGHILL, LA - Graveside services for John James Houghton, 68, will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2001 at the Spring Branch Cemetery with Father Phillip officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Springhill, LA.

Mr. Houghton retired after 28 years of service with the U.S. Army Airborne Rangers Master Sergeant. Some of his accomplishments were Airborne Instructor, Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Vietnam & Korea Veteran, 12 years of service El Paso Sheriff's Dept. and five years service with Caddo Parish Sheriff's Dept.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Laura Houghton son, Philip daughter, Amanda two step-children and six grandchildren.

Binghampton, NY, USA, HOUGHTON—Francis D. Houghton, 67, Friendsville Stage, Binghamton, formerly of 76 Bay less Ave., died early this morning at Syracuse Veterans Hospital after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hazel M. Houghton, Binghamton; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Alton, Binghamton; a brother, Stephen Houghton, Schenectady; five sisters, Mrs. Grace Williams, Cook sack he, Mrs. Mildred Stewart, Knoxville, Pa., Mrs. Jessie VanBell, Mrs. Jennie Roe and Mrs. Lillian Chase, all of Binghamton; eight grandchildren; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars 478, and Barracks 666. Before his retirement he was employed with the Yellow Cab Co. for over 22 years.
