Art DeSaulniers in 1944; services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Conrad, with burial in Conrad Cemetery; friends may call until 9 p.m. today at Johnston Funeral Home, Conrad; memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society; Mis. Grimes had served as Worthy Matron of the St. Elmo Chapter No. 398 O.E.S. of Conrad, and was past president of the Past Matrons Club.

Betty Jane Houghton Hauser was born on October 8, 1929, in Marshalltown, Iowa to Clem & Sara (Petticord) Houghton. She graduated from MHS in 1947. She spent her first year at Colorado University and transferred to the University of Iowa where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree. She taught at Garwin High School Garwin, Iowa. She then
married Robert R. Hauser in June of 1952, moving to Cedar Rapids and taught high school, then moving to Lakewood, California, where she taught many years K-12. Left to cherish her memory are Debbie (Carl) Danner of Bakersfield, California; David Hauser, California; and Diana (Mike) Wise of Cerritos, California: Grandchildren: Aaron Hauser, Chad Danner, Sarah Wise, Jason Wise, her sister, Delores (Donald) Hauser of Union, Iowa and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents: Clem & Sara Houghton, and husband, Robert R. Hauser. She will truly be missed by her family. The family will gather at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown at noon on Friday, December 10th, for a brief time of visitation and then proceed to the Hauser Cemetery near Whitten

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Westover Funeral Home, 6337 Hickman Road. Des Moines, with Dan Danielson officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery.

Mr. Houghton was born in Des Moines, where he lived his entire life. He was president of Verne R. Houghton Insurance Agency Inc., and served as an Independent Insurance Agent for 46 years.

Acanthus Masonic Lodge, Acanthus Order of Eastern Star, Des Moines Consistory, Ascalon Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, Mount Olivet White Shrine, Northwest Kiwanis Club, Des Moines Association of Independent Insurance Agents, Iowa Association of Independent Insurance Agents.
