Amy E. Houghton, 67, Deerland Road, Long Lake, died Wednesday at her home. In 1957, Ms. Houghton enlisted in the Army, serving in Korea and Germany as an operating room technician and at Walter Reed Hospital, Washington, D.C. She retired Jan. 31, 1978, after 20 years of service. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Long Lake Volunteer Rescue Squad.
Born Feb. 9, 1930, at Long Lake, a daughter of Alvin and Martha Houghton Houghton, she graduated from Long Lake Central School and was employed by Upstate Telephone as an operator.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Long Lake Cemetery with the Rev. Dorothy Okray officiating, followed by a military honor guard service.⁴

Donald R. Houghton, 61, of 325 Arlington St., died at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday at Samaritan Medical Center, where he had been a patient since Sept. 25.

Born March 15, 1938, in Watertown, son of Cecil O. and Susan Pierce Houghton, he graduated from Watertown High School in 1957 and served as a private in the Army's Military Police from April 26, 1958, until March 28, 1962.

After his military service he returned to Watertown and then moved to Chicago Ill., where he was a machinist and lathe operator and then a hotel manager.

He returned again to Watertown in 1987 and became a janitorial engineer for SSI Cleaning Service. He later worked for Green Thumb.

A marriage ended in divorce.

Mr. Houghton was an avid amateur photographer.

Surviving besides are a cousin, Paul Carpenter, with whom he lived; two sons, Steven and John, addresses unknown; a brother, Ronald W., Occoquan, Va., other cousins and a nephew.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in North Watertown Cemetery.

Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today at Cummings Funeral Home.

Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 7145 Henry Clay Blvd., Liverpool, N.Y. 13088.⁴

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Laine C. and Kelly R; two daughters, Tara P. Heinzig and Kendra J. Longee; a brother, Matthew; three sisters, Lorraine Freese, Denise Myers and Barbara Zimmerman; and four grandchildren.
