Loving wife, mother and grandmother Lois Houghton Dansie passed away April 2, 1988.

Born October 10, 1928 in Castlegate, Utah to Charles A. and Laverne Harrison Houghton. Married Westley M. Dansie February 28, 1948. Graduated 1948 Carbon High School, Price. Moved to Salt Lake and attended LDS Business College. Member Sugarhouse BPW and Salt Lake Council of Women's Clubs. She worked for PIE, St Marks Hospital, Richards Candy, East High School, Safeco and United Health Care. Later in semi-retirementm she went into business for herself. She enjoyed life and most of all loved her family very much. She would do anything to help her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all of them.

Survived by husband Westley, son, Stephen C. daughters Lois J. Weeder, Janet L. Hatch, all Salt Lake City. Step-children Barbara L. Millard, Sandy. Paul R. Salt Lake City. Westley W. San Bardino, Calif. Father Charles A. and step-mother Mary Houghton. 17 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Wednesday 12 noon, Salt Lake City Cemetery. Friends may call at Deseret Mortuary, 36 East 700 South Wednesday prior 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Mrs. Houghton died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1993, at her home. She was born Sept. 4, 1934, in Neosho Rapids, the daughter of Joseph and Helen Browning Buchtel.

She married Richard Houghton on July 1, 1952, in Garden City. They moved to Tonganoxie from Emporia in 1988. Mrs. Houghton was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Richard Gene Houghton, Osage City, and William Houghton, Dallas; a daughter, Kathy Brown, Holt Summit, Mo; and her father, of Elmer, Mo.

Theda T. Houghton 1919-2011 PITTSFIELD Theda T. Houghton, 91, formerly of Belvidere Ave. most recently of Providence Care Center in Lenox, passed away at Berkshire Medical Center. Born April 18, 1919 in Pawlet, Vt., the daughter of Schuylre E. and Maude Grace Hulett Towsley, she was a 1937 graduate of Bennington High School. Theda had twelve years on musical education playing the baritone and trumpet. She was employed for 2 years in the Draper Corp., and 26 years at Clarice's Corset Shop. Theda was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pittsfield. She was a member of the Ruth Miriam Circle, she enjoyed music tremendously and loved cats. Theda was predeceased by her husband Frederick E. Houghton whom she married September 7, 1946 he died March 4, 1993. She leaves her nephews Paul Towsley and his wife Edith of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., Richard Towlsey and his wife Peggy of West Springfield, Mass., nieces Ann Stanton of Jennings, Fla., Jean Day of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., as well as numerous grand nieces and grand nephews. Special friends Barbara Pucko, Rosemay Carey and family, Violet Santo and Moses her special four legged friend. Theda was predeceased by two brothers Howard Towsley and Donald Towsley. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Theda T. Houghton will be held Monday, April 18, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Judith Kohatsu. Burial will be in the Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington, Vt. There will be an hour of visitation the day of the service from noon until the funeral at 1 p.m. Donations in her memory may be made to Berkshire Humane Society care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
