Lisa Beloat: I just came in possession of a very old photo album which belonged to my great grandmother, Amy Cecil (Pollock) Spaulding. In her writing under an elderly gentleman it states Great Great Grandfather Joel Houghton. Amy's mother, Olive Baldwin was from Hamlin, Monroe, NY and married Alfred Pollock. I can't seem to find the conneciton to the Houghton's because I don't know Olive's parents or Alfred's name/maiden names. Looking for a Houghton/Baldwin/Pollock connection.¹

Janet Dressen Houghton, 51, director of conventions for the National School Boards Association in Alexandria, died of cancer April 25 at the Hospice of Northern Virginia.

Mrs. Houghton, who lived in Alexandria, was born in Luverne, Minn. She attended the University of Minnesota.

She moved to the Washington area in 1970 and began working at the National School Boards Association in 1979.

She was an avid golfer.

Her marriage to Thomas Houghton ended in divorce.

Survivors include three children, Blair Houghton of Phoenix and Kim and Lance Houghton, both of Los Angeles; a brother, Michael Dressen of Lawton, Okla; and two sisters, Lee Ann Meyer of St. Cloud, Minn., and Clyda Montague of Duluth, Minn.

Mary Houghton, 94, of 118 Brooklea Place died Thursday at her home.

A native of Chicago, Mrs. Houghton lived many years in Syracuse. She retired from the dietary department of Van Duyn Home and Hospital. Mrs. Houghton was a communicant of St. James Church.

Surviving are three nieces, Dora Collins of Syracuse, Lillian Crawford of Irondequoit and Jane Dommett of Cazenovia; a nephew, Clarence Cherney of Syracuse; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home and 9 a.m. in St. James Church. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Palmyra.

Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 4612 S. Salina St.
