Melda Pearl Howell Houghton, 79, died April 9, 1991 at her home in Nephi.
She was born December 20, 1911 in Nephi, Utah to Willis Henry and Emma Adelia Miner Howell. Married Raymond D. Houghton, May 19, 1930 in Nephi. Marriage solemnized nine months later in the Manti LDS Temple. Melda was a member of the LDS Church and served as Primary teacher, YWMIA secretary and a Relief Society visiting teacher. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to all. Survived by husband, Nephi; two daughters, Mrs. Dean (Lawana) Bateman, Nephi; Mrs. John (Judy) Ellertson, Brigham City; two foster sons, Richard Howell, Mapleton; Grant Howell, Helper; two sisters, Ora H. Carter, Salt Lake City; Rula H. Hudson, Price; one brother, Jay Howell, Nephi; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 15 foster grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 1991, in the Nephi LDS Stake Center, 351 No. 100 West. Friends may call Friday evening 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to service at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North, Nephi. Interment: Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi. Hudson of Pritt; a brother. Jay Howell of Nephi; eight grand-children: four great-grandehildren nine foster grandchildren; and 15 footer great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday in Nephi. Interment was at the Vine Bluff Cemetery in Nephi.¹

BELLINGHAM - Catherine F. "Kay" (Meagher) Houghton, 54, of 113 Twinbrook, died Friday in her home.

She leaves a son, Kenneth M. Houghton of Barre; five daughters, Laura M. Hutt of Franklin, Amy B. Houghton and Erin E. Houghton, both of Bellingham, Courtney B. Corneau of Hudson, N.H., and Lynne M. Rossi of Worcester; her mother, Bridget (Murphy) Meagher of Natick; a sister, Maureen Tocci of Mount Laurel, N.J; and 11 grandchildren. She was born in Portland, Maine, a daughter of the late Timothy Meagher, and had lived in Hudson prior to moving to Bellingham four years ago.

Mrs. Houghton was a licensed practical nurse and had worked at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick.

She was a graduate of Natick High School and the former Westboro State Hospital School of Nursing.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours at the funeral home are 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 488 Boston Post Road, Marlboro, 01752.

Fort Wayne, IN, USA, David Paul Houghton, 80, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at Hamilton Trace Nursing Home in Fishers. He was born Nov. 22, 1935, in Auburn, a son of the late Paul D. and Magdalene G. (Conner) Houghton. He married Barbara Jean (Larimore) Houghton on Sept. 28, 1957, in Fort Wayne, and she preceded him in death April 16, 2012. He worked as the Business Manager for Don Ayers Pontiac in Fort Wayne for 17 years. He was a member of the Auburn Nazarene Church, Church of God in Fort Wayne and owned the Little Hitching Post along with his wife for 19 years. He and his wife were also the owners of Mr. JJ which was the Indianapolis Colts Mascot. Surviving are his son, David (Cherie) Houghton II of Lima, Ohio; daughters, Cindy (Gary) Cooper of Cohutta, Ga. and Janice Houghton of Indianapolis; grandson, Trace Houghton; sister, Nanci (Raymond) Carnahan of Fort Wayne; and sister-in-law, Betty Houghton of Auburn. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, David Paul Houghton, Jr; a brother, James Douglas Houghton; and a sister, Miriam Dawn Houghton. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, at Carnahan-Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home in Spencerville, with calling from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. prior to service. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn.⁴
