Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, LaRue Johnson Houghton, 75, of Santaquin, Utah, died at home of a lingering illness on January 25, 1991.

She was born September 15, 1915 in Santaquin to Jonas and Bertha Larson Johnson. She married Arvil Lavon Houghton, August 29, 1935 in Payson. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a member of the LDS Church, holding various positions. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was employed at J.C. Penney Co. for 17 years in Salt Lake City. A devoted wife and mother, she enjoyed being a homemaker and gardening.

Survivors include her husband; two sons and two daughters, Ronald and Judy Houghton, Tooele; Dennis and Gaye Lynne Houghton, Springville; Mrs. Lael L. Mitchell, Mrs. Kay (Louise) Tischner, both of Santaquin.

Services will be Tuesday, January 29, 1991, at 12 noon, in the Santaquin Stake Center, 90 South 200 East, Santaquin. Friends may call both Monday evening, 7-9 p.m and 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. on Tuesay, at Holladay Hills Funeral Home, 66 South 300 East, Santaquin. Interment will be in the Santaquin City Cemetery.
