She married Kenneth Brown Baxter on December 29, 1937. Over the next two years, they lived in California, Maryland, and Utah. They became pregnant with their first child in 1939.

Later in the pregnancy, however, Phyllis began to have various health ailments, and ultimately the baby girl died shortly before her due date.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in the Murray Second ward chapel for Mrs. Liza Ann Robertson Bedington Houghton. Mrs Houghton 83. died Friday in a Salt Lake hospital of causes incident to age. She suffered a broken hip about a year ago. A daughter of Charles and Susann Rothrock Robertson, she was born Nov. 17. 1865 in Dongola, Ill. She was married to William Houghton in Nephi He preceded her in death. An active member of the Murray Second LDS ward. Mrs. Houghton was a resident of Eureka for 17 years. Survivors include four sons. Charles R. Bedingfield. La- Grande, Ore; J B. Bedingfield. Murray; Jess Houghton. Salt
City and Fred H Ugl Bingham; a daughter, Mrs Ethel Allan, Salt Lake City; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He preceded her in death March 7. 1983. Their union was blessed with three daughters, Carol (Stanford) Ogden. West Valley City; Sylvia (Phil) Barney, Salina; Kathleen Norton. Sandy; whom they raised in the admonition of the Lord. She was a devoted and selfless wife and mother.
Her life was one of service to the Lord. her family, and her fellow men. She served in all the church auxiliaries. was a gifted teacher and missionary, serving in North Carolina in 1939-40. Salina stake mission in the I 960's and in the Chicago North Mission in 1979- 80 with her husband Reed. She so loved being a worker in the Manti Temple. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; Elmer. Dell. Arvil, and Max Houghton; a twin sister, Leona Marie, who died at birth; and her sweetheart, Reed. She is survived by her daughters and sons in law; 13 grandchildren; 1 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Olivia Huff, West Valley City; sister-in-law, Revo Houghton, Ogden.

Emma Olivia Houghton Huff, age 90, passed away October 12, 2005 in Taylorsville, Utah. Olivia was born November 24, 1914 in Santaquin, Utah to Lyman Carter Houghton and Mary Ellen Lofgren. She married Reed Huff on September 11, 1942 in Ogden, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. She loved to travel with her husband and family. Olivia was a wonderful mother and wife. She loved being in the company of her grandchildren and enjoyed participating in their lives. She especially enjoyed the time spent this past year with her great grandchildren. Olivia is survived by her daughters, Joyce (Scott) Broschinsky and Debra Allen; sister-in-law, Reva Houghton; 6 grandchildren, Andrew (Carolyn) Broschinsky, Brandon (Clairesse) Broschinsky, Lucianne Broschinsky, Lauralee Broschinsky, Kaitlyn Broschinsky and Avette Allen; three great grandchildren, Tessa McCullough, Reed Scott Broschinsky and Adelaide Mahalya Broschinsky. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters, Verona (Reed) Gates and Leona Marie; brothers, Elmer (Elma), Dell (Twila), Arvil (LaRue) and Max Houghton, and son-in-law, Bob Allen. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2005 at 12:00 noon at the Valley View Funeral Home Chapel, 4335 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at a viewing Saturday prior to the service from 10:45 until 11:45 a.m. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.2

After retirement she tapped danced with the Forever Young Dancers of Scottsdale for 7 years. She also like to play golf. She is survived by her sister Bessie Robinson of Salt Lake City, Utah. She is also survived by 19 nieces & nephews, 4 of which lived with her at one time & they are Tamera Barrow, James T. Houghton III, Valinda Houghton & Roger Houghton who are the children of her brother Jim. We love & miss you.
