Warren W. Houghton, a retired mechanical engineer with the missile systems division of the Raytheon Co., died Sunday at his home in Manchester-by-the- Sea. He was 68.

Born in Medford, Mr. Houghton graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1949. He served in the Army in Europe and the Philippines during World War II and received a Bronze Star. He retired from the Army Reserve in 1983 as a lieutenant colonel.

He leaves his wife, Patricia (Mulally); two sons, Charles D. and William W. of Manchester-by-the-Sea; a daughter, Patricia M. Wojahn of Germany; a brother, Charles, and a sister, Winifred Olivieri, both of Somerville; and three grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. tomorrow in Sacred Heart Church, followed by burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, both in Manchester-by-the- Sea.
