80, of Rancho Bernardo, Calif., died there Jan. 26. Services have been held. Mr. Houghton, a native of Rocky Ford, was one of the original pilots hired by Continental Airlines in 1940. He retired in 1965. He served in the Army Air Force and the Air National Guard. Survivors include his wife, Hazel; two daughters, Charlotte Houghton of Denver and Linda Madsen of Marina, Calif; and one granddaughter.⁵

Jack R. Houghton, 43, Lancaster resident for six years, died Wednesday in a Los Angeles hospital. He resided -at 5104 L-12.
He was a native of Dayton, Ohio, and a member of Dayton Lodge, No. 147, F&AM.
Survivors are the widow, Dorothy; four sons, Robert of San Bernardino, Richard, serving in the U.S. Army in Germany, and Fredrick and John, Lancaster; two daughters, Mrs. Suzanne Linney and Kathryn Ann Houghton, Lancaster; his mother, Mrs. Audrey Wildenhaus, Dayton, and seven grandchildren.

James D Houghton Longtime county employee Private services will be conducted for Sacramento County worker James Dale Houghton who died Wednesday in a local hospital of kidney disease and cancer at the age of 68 Mr Houghton moved with his family at the age of 4 from Columbus Kan to Southern California After graduating from high school in Long Beach he worked with his father in construction He moved to Sacramento in 1956 and continued to work in construction In 1967 Mr Houghton went to work for the Sacramento County Department of Public Works in the sign maintenance shop After working for 17 years he was forced to retire early in 1984 because of ill health He is survived by his wife of 40 years Dorothy sons James and Robert of Sacramento daughters Debbie Houghton and Brenda Walker of Sacramento sisters Pearl King of Hemet Ebadine Sutton of Parris mother Eva Cornelison and seven grandchildren
