Howard L. Houghton, 89, died December 7, in Warsaw Hospital, formerly of 24 Tempest St., Perry. He was born in Perry, February 13, 1891 and spent his entire life In Perry. He retired at age 86 from Champion Products Inc., where he worked for 25 years.
His wife, Bessie (Billings) Houghton died in 1975. Survivors are two sons, Lawrence of Perry and Seward of Geneseo; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Eaton-Watson Funeral Home at 59 Lake Street, Perry, Burial In Prospect Hill Cemetery, Perry.

Obituary published in the Livingston Leader, Geneseo, New York, December 1980.

Dr. Dorothy Houghton Dies, Food-Chemistry Specialist, December 3, 1975
Dr. Dorothy Houghton, a specialist in food chemistry and nutrition, died Monday at Phelps Memorial Hospital, North Tarrytown, N.Y. She was 74 years old and lived at Tarrytown.
Dr. Houghton, a graduate of Barnard College and Columbia University, joined the faculty of Pennsylvania State University in 1952 as assistant dean for resident instruction. At her retirement in 1966 she was dean of the College of Human Development. Before going to Penn State she was an instructor in chemistry at Packer Collegiate Institute, Brooklyn, and an associate professor in the home economics department of Teacher's College, Columbia University. At her death she was an administrative officer of E. W. Axe and Company, investment counselors. There are no immediate survivors.
