He was an Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Irene Schneider Houghton; his mother, Catherine Holly Houghton, and a brother, Frank, both on Staten Island; and three sisters, Arlene Holder of Toms River, Beverly Capofarri of Beechwood, and Catherine Keighron on Staten Island. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at A . K. Macagna Funeral Home, Cliffside Park, with entombment in Fairview Mausoleum. Visiting is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today.

Santa Houghton, age 84, of Garrison, NY died on Thursday, August 23, 2001 at Cortlandt Nursing Home, Cortlandt Manor, NY. Born in New York, NY on January 7, 1917 she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Mary (Milta) Ceraolo. Mrs. Houghton and her late husband Stan owned and operated the Houghton Dance Studio in the Bronx, NY. Together they taught tap, jazz, ballet and social dancing for over 32 years. From 1939-44 they performed in many New York nightclubs and theatres as professional dancers. She is also a lifetime member of the Dance Educators of America Association. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley Houghton, he died in May of 1988. She is survived by one son Stanley Houghton of Garrison, one brother Bob Ceraolo of Florida and one sister Fran Gaetani of New City, NY, one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter also survive. Funeral services will be held at the CLINTON FUNERAL HOME, 728 No. Division St., Peekskill, NY on Saturday, August 25, 2001 at 10 am. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.¹

Howard L. Houghton, 89, died December 7, in Warsaw Hospital, formerly of 24 Tempest St., Perry. He was born in Perry, February 13, 1891 and spent his entire life In Perry. He retired at age 86 from Champion Products Inc., where he worked for 25 years.
His wife, Bessie (Billings) Houghton died in 1975. Survivors are two sons, Lawrence of Perry and Seward of Geneseo; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Eaton-Watson Funeral Home at 59 Lake Street, Perry, Burial In Prospect Hill Cemetery, Perry.

Obituary published in the Livingston Leader, Geneseo, New York, December 1980.
