Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Rosedale Sharing Community Church at 1444 Southwest Boulevard, Kansas City, Kan; cremation. Friends may call following the service at the church. The family requests no flowers and suggests contributions to the Kansas City Hospice. Mrs. Houghton was a lifelong area resident. She co-managed the Common Ground Gift-N-Thrift in Kansa s City, Kan., for 10 years, retiring in 1992.

She received a social work degree from the Univeristy of Kansas, Lawrence, in 1949. She was a former member of the Rosedale United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, George D. Houghton of the home; a son, Trevor Houghton, Kansas City; a daughter, Hilary Duderstadt, Overland Park; six brothers, Tom Resovich, Canoga Park, Calif., Nick Resovich, Montrose, Colo., Eli Resovich, Kansas City, and Steve Resovich, Mike Resovich and George Resovich, all of Kansas City, Kan; and a grandson.

Bill was born on August 31, 1942 in Springfield, IL; son of Harry and Elsie (Miller) Houghton. They preceded him in death.
Surviving Bill is his fiancé, Cheri Felton; two children, Ronald (Cheryl) Houghton and Susan (Jay) Whapham; one sister, Betty McBryant and four grandchildren.
Bill enjoyed working and running his business, Logan County Pest Control. He was a former member and former president of the Lincoln Jaycees. He was also a fireman for the Lincoln Fire Department.
Private family graveside services will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will have a celebration of life at a later date. Memorials may be made in Bill's name to the American Cancer Society. Services are entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, IL.
