William James Houghton died suddenly on Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at Morristown Memorial Hospital. He was 84.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 1, at 10:30 a.m. at The Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main St., Peapack. 908-234-0590. Interment will be private.

Mr. Houghton was born in Paterson and lived in Elizabeth before moving to Far Hills 50 years ago.

He was a project engineer for the Personal Products Division of Johnson & Johnson before retiring in 1983 after 25 years.

Mr. Houghton was a Navy veteran of World War II and a graduate of the Newark College of Engineering.

Survivors include his wife, Allesandre (Perkins) Houghton of Far Hills; one daughter, Susan MacMichael of Fresno, Calif; two sons, William R. Houghton of Morristown and Kenneth A. of Rochester, N.Y. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren and one sister, Marion Drace of Paterson.1
