Mary C. Houghton
MINERVA - Mary C. Houghton, 99, died Sunday (April 2, 1989) at her home on Route 28 after a long illness. Born Feb. 7, 1890, in Bishopstown Lismore, County Waterford, Ireland, she was the daughter of Michael and Mary Ann (Webb) Cuffe. Her husband, Henry Houghton Sr., died April 15,1978. One daughter, Peggy (Houghton) Piontka, died in 1961, one son, Henry Houghton Jr., died Jan. 16,1975, and one grandson, died in 1984. Mrs. Houghton was a communicant of St. Josephs Church, Olmstedville. Survivors include one daughter, Olive Houghton of Minerva; one son,
Edgar Houghton of Albany; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Irishtown, Olmstedville, later in the spring.

Albany, Albany Co., NY, USA, Houghton, Edgar A. ALBANY Edgar A. Houghton, 92, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Stratton VA Medical Center following a long illness. Edgar was born in Port Henry, the son of the late Henry J. and Mary C. Houghton. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army. Edgar owned Houghton Chemicals in Albany. He was an avid reader and outdoorsman. Edgar is survived by his grandchildren, Mark (Chenin) Houghton, Sarah Raquel Houghton, Dale Wildman, Mary (Tom) Young, Kevin Murray, Jr. and Caitlin Murray; his great-grandchildren, Imogen Young and Rhys Young; and by his son-in-law Kevin Murray, Sr. In addition to his parents, Edgar was predeceased by his wife, Agnes Houghton; his children, Stephen Houghton and Mary Pat Murray; and by his siblings, Henry Houghton, Olive Houghton and Peggy Houghton. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville. Hospital after a long illness.
She was born Dec 6. 1924 in
Long Lake, the daughter of
Hamor and Harriett Brown
Houghton She married Rubin
Harvey on Feb. 22.1943 in Rome.
She was graduated from high
school in Long Lake.
Mrs. Harvey was a member of,
Wesleyan Church. Camden.
Besides her husband, she is
survived by six daughters. Miss
Jean Harvey of Rome. Miss
Peggy Lou of Holland Patent, and
Bonnie. Mary. Martha and
Melodie. at home; four sons.
Louis of Lee Valley. Richard.
Rubin Jr.. and Charles, all of
Camden: four sisters. Mrs
Bertha Darling of Williamstown.
Mrs James (Lydia) Cooney.
Long Lake; Mrs. Lannie (Louise)
Mackabee of Norwich and Mrs.
Louis (Martha) Harvey of
Redfield; four brothers, William,
and Hamor Jr Houghton both of
Long Lake. John Houghton of
Speculator and Arthur Houghton
of Syracuse and six grandchildren.
