Christopher Monroe Houghton, 45, of Philadelphia, Tenn., went home to his Father's House on Monday, Feb. 2, 2004.

He was born in League City.

He was an employee of Tilley-Lane in Lenoir City, Tenn. Chris was a wonderful husband, father, son and brother and will be greatly missed.

Mr. Houghton is preceded in death by his father, Charles Monroe Houghton.

He is survived by his wife, Bethany Houghton; children, Hannah age 8 months, Kristyn age 17 and Kellen age 21; mother, Sally Cummings and stepfather, Harold of Loudon, Tenn., brothers, Brett Houghton and wife Ceree of Philadelphia, Tenn. and Bryan Houghton and wife, Sherry of Lenoir City, Tenn; sister, Brenda Yarber and husband, Dale of Lenoir City, Tenn; grandmother, Mollie Owings of Alba; many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins; mother-in-law, Tracy Wirick; Bethany's grandmother, Sue H. Prestwood; sister-in-law, Jessica Wirick and brother-in-law, Brandon Wirick.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City, Tenn. with funeral services to follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Sonny Kirkendall officiating.

Burial will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City, Tenn.⁴

Avis Houghton, 92, of Strange Creek passed away Sept. 10, 2006, at the home of her daughter-in-law, Lou Houghton.

She was born Oct. 11, 1913, in Braxton County and was a daughter of the late Perry and Malissa Bail Dobbins.

She was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Flem; son, Cledith; and sisters, Valerie Hamric and Mary Dobbins.

She is survived by her daughter, Anna Lee White and husband, Dorvin, of Elizabeth; brother, Ira Dobbins of Strange Creek; granddaughters, Lisa Young and husband, Ronnie, and Beverly Young and husband, Johnny, all of Strange Creek, and Teresa Rose and husband, Donald, of Little Birch; grandson, Dorvin White Jr. and wife, Jeanette, of Elizabeth; five great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.

Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, at the Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, with the Rev. Johnny Conrad officiating. Burial will be in the Bail Cemetery, Strange Creek.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.²

Linda Darlene (Crow) Houghton, 63, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Deaconess Hospital.
Linda was born in Evansville, Indiana, on August 13, 1950, to James and Darlene (Stuteville) Crow. Linda loved to crochet and was very good at it. She also enjoyed playing the lottery, bingo, and enjoyed get away's with family and friends. Linda previously worked for Columbia Nursing Home and currently at Bethel Manor.
Linda is survived by her husband of 35 years, James "Jim" Houghton; daughter, Tina (Jeremy) Francis; sons, Eric (Tawani) Dockery, Ron (Jeanna) Houghton, Delbert Houghton, and James Houghton Jr; brothers, Jim Jr., Charles, Rodger, Jerry, Rick and Todd Crow; grandchildren, Spencer, Adrian, Beth, Kendellyn, Jeremiah, Dalton and Elyse; two great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Dockery. Linda is preceded in death by a son, Thomas Dockery; her parents; and a brother, David Crow.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Browning Funeral Home, 738 E. Diamond Avenue, Evansville, IN 47711, with Pastor Dave Mills officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 2 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014, and again Wednesday from noon until time of service at Browning Funeral Home.
