Katie Coakley Houghton, 89, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, January 27, 2006 at her home. She was a member of First Christian Church and a member of the Loyal Workers Sunday school class. She and her late husband, Willie M. Houghton, were the owners and operators of the Colonial Motel in Fredericksburg. She was a member of the Elks Lodge 875 Auxiliary and the Mary Washington Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughter, Janice H. Fletcher and her husband David, of Fredericksburg; two grandsons, R. David M. Fletcher and his wife, Aimee, of Fredericksburg, Jonathan William Fletcher of Fredericksburg; one great-grandson, Braiden Fletcher; four sisters, Ethel Vaughn, Elizabeth Mignogna and Elsie Jennings, all of Ashland and Erma Cornett of Fredericksburg; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 30, at First Christian Church, with Rev. Gary Staddan officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 29, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg and one hour prior to the service on Monday, January 30 at the church. Howard Earl Robertson, 82, of Heathsville died Sunday, June 12, 2011. He was retired from PEPCO in Northern Virginia, was a member of Afton United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the US Air Force.
He was predeceased by his wife, Vera Houghton Robertson; sisters, Mary R. Carter, Catie R. Gray, Beatrice R. Milano and Betty R. Drew.
Surviving are his wife, Lois Singleton Robertson; sons, David B. Robertson and wife, Mary Jo, Donald E. Robertson and wife, Pamela; daughters, Elaine R. Johns and husband, Michael, Reba Robertson; sisters, Myrtle Voss, Louise Stanford and Audris Robertson; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of Northern Virginia; stepsons, David J. and Paul W. Singleton.
Visitation 1 - 2 p.m. June 15, Faulkner Family funeral Home & Crematory, Burgess followed by funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial at Oakland United Methodist Church, Farnham.
