information for you.
My notes say that William Wallace Carman married Mary Ann Burdick, born 24 March 1828 in Almond, Allegany County, New York, to William and Polly Ann (Hancock) Burdick. William Burdick was born 12 December 1775 in Hopkinton, Washington County, Rhode Island; married second to Polly Ann in 1813. He died 17 July 1854 in Alfred, Allegany County, New York. Polly Ann Hancock was born 22 December 1793 in Stonington, New London County, Connecticut, and died 25 January 1884. She is reported to be the grandniece of John Hancock.
William and Mary Ann Carman moved to Wisconsin, and she died before 1900. She is buried at Tefft cemetery between Almond and Alfred, New York.
Mary Ann is the sister of one of my ancestors, Clark C. Burdick.

1880 census for Albion, Dane County, Wisconsin, listed Walter W. Carman, 45, a shoemaker, born in NY of NJ parents, living with Mary A. Carman, 49, born NY with father born RI and mother CT. Children were Mabell, 17 and Gertie, 9.
1900 census for Edgerton, Rock County, Wisconsin, listed Wallace W. Carman, a stock buyer, born February 1834, age 66, widowed, born NY of NY parents.
>From Pat Hankey - death at 66yrs, 9mos, 10 dys of stroke of apoplexy. "They moved to Milton, WI shortly after marriage, they had also resided in Albion, Evansville, Edgerton all in WI. They lived in Almond, Allegany County, NY, before coming to WI in 1856. W.W. was a mailman for a long time while he was in Albion. When he came to Edgerton he started a stock yard. He also was a shoemaker".

WILLIAM WALLACE CARMAN - Died Sat. Nov 10, 1900 at Edgerton, Wisconsin, 66 yrs, 9 mos 10 days. Stoke of apoplexy at work in the Stockyard with his son-in-law P.C. Brown. Funeral services were held at Mr. Brown's residence in the afternoon Tuesday the 13th. Rev. W.C. Whitford of Milton, asst. Rev. Moore of the Congregational Church. Mr. Carman became a Seventh-Day Baptist shortly after his marriage and when he moved to Milton. Burial was held at the Fasset Cemetery. Mr. Carman, born of 12 children, Feb 2l8, 1834, Hornellsville, N.Y. He later moved to Almond, Allegany Co New York. His trade was shoemaker, which he learned from his father. He married in July 4,
1852 to Mary Ann Burdick.

Soon after marriage, Mr. Carman moved to Milton where he made his home about twenty years and where he and his wife joined the Seventh-Day Baptist church. Subsequently he resided a short time in Janesville and longer periods in Albion and Evansville. Hew was for eight years the mail carrier between the last named town and Edgerton. For the past four years he efficiently aided Mr. Brown in the stock business. He was an industrious, reliable, kindly and
genial man, always winning friends, making no personal enemies whereever he lived.

Obituary in the Edgerton Tobacco Reporter November 1, 1895, supplied by Pat Hankey:
Mrs. Wallace Carman. Died in Edgerton, Wis., Oct. 24, 1895, Mary Ann, the wife of Wallace Carman, in the sixty-ninth year of her age. She has been an invalid for about a year, and her illness terminated in blood poisoning. She was born in Almond, Allegany Co. N.Y., March 24, 1828, and her parents were William and Mary Ann Burdick. She was married at that place July 4, 1852, made her home and resided most of the time since at Milton, Albion and Evansville. She leaves, beside her husband, three children, a son who resides in Madison and two daughters, the elder, Mrs. Pen Brown, of Edgerton and the younger residing with her father. Five grandchildren mourn her loss.
The funeral services were held last Friday afternoon at the home of Mr. Carman, and were conducted by Pres. W.C. Whiford, of Milton College. The body was interred in the cemetery near Edgerton.
