I noticed your posting about Almira Mcduffee Forsaith in Ancestry. As you mentioned, she was married to Rufus Forsaith. His brother Josiah Forsaith is my gg-grandfather. I have considerable data on many of his siblings, but very little about Rufus himself. Would you by any chance have more data about him or Almira? Almira and Rufus were "Married by Rev Joel R. Arnold in the Congregational Church in Chester, NH - Per Church Records".

Subject: McDuffee Family who married Brown
Date: Tue, 11 Nov 2003
From: Doris Brewster

I recently viewed your file on ancestry.com and found that the Brown family I am researching married some of the McDuffees. I wonder if you can supply any additional information or suggestions on how I might obtain more information regarding these Brown family members. The relative was William Brown who married Ruth McDuffee, daughter of Daniel McDuffee. This William and Ruth (McDuffee) Brown had the following children: Daniel who married a Durgin, Molly who married Ezra Abbot, James who married Molly McCurdy, and settled in Grand Isle, Vermont, Sarah who I have no information on, Capt. John Brown who married Polly Gault around 1803 and Capt. William Brown who married in 1798? to Sally Buntin. The Brown brothers who originally came from Scotland (I thought) were Samuel, Joseph and William and they settled in the upper part of Chester towards Suncook.

My ancestor is Daniel Brown, son of ?William Brown and Ruth McDuffee, who was born 1756 in Chester, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. He died September 16, 1803 in Corinth, Orange County, Vermont and was buried there. He married Susannah Durgin, the daughter of John Durgin and Susanna Pitman on 1789 in Grafton, New Hampshire. Susannah was born May 18, 1767, in Northwoods, Rockingham, New Hampshire. She died Mar 30, 1867, in Corinth, Orange County, Vermont. They had James A. Brown, b. May 20, 1791, and d. April 24, 1866, Mary "Polly" Brown born April 7, 1795, Susannah Brown, born May 4, 1796, John Brown born Dec 31, 1798, Daniel Brown, Jr. born Sep 12, 1800, and died Dec 9, 1865, and Walter Brown, born May 7, 1802, in Corinth, Vermont, and d. Jan 30, 1894, in Corinth, Vermont. He married Lydia Kenerston on Aug 7, 1832, in Corinth, Vermont.

James A. Brown married Emeline Slafter, daughter of Edmund Farwell Slafter and Clarissa Tolman, on June 17, 1819, in Vermont. James and Emeline borth died in Licking County, Ohio.

I would appreciate any advice or publications that you could suggest. Thank you in advance for any help you might be able to give.

Sincerely,

Doris J. Derby-Brewster
