Daniel W. Ranslow married Ruth Conklin, daughter of Asa Neal Conklin and Nellie Amanda Taft, on 24 December 1953.³

Daniel W. Ranslow died on 13 July 1981 at age 85.^1,3 He was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Sabula, Jackson County, Iowa.³

Daniel Ranslow's parents apparently were not married. He was evidently adopted by his maternal grandfather Bradford Ranslow.
Daniel W. Ranslow lived on 7 June 1917 in Sabula, Jackson County, Iowa.⁴ His Social Security Number was 480-05-6431, issued in 1936 in Iowa.¹

His wife, Mary, died in 1943 at age ~48, leaving him a widower.³

3. Possibly she married a Renslow, and at this point is single
again. This would explain the parents' birth states, although the parent's birth states might also be erroneous information from an informant that didn't know Genevieve very well.
4. My guess is, the cracker company owned the building, and the
information may have come from the cracker company. Otherwise, the residents that were home probably gave (guessed at) the information for those that weren't home.
5. The surname was difficult. The R was clear, as was "low" at the end. About the R--I matched it with other upper case R's on the page, and found a K to verify that it was different. The difficult letters could have been "ens." I can't be sure it's Renslow, but the R---low pattern doesn't fit too many names. The Soundex extractor also read the surname as Renslow.¹

Mr. Van Buren,

I would like to know if you have any information on my great grandmother. Her son Victor Renslow was my grandfather. Some of his kids told me that her name was Etta, but don't have her last name. The California Death Index says her last name is Davis. I looked up Victor to see what his mother's maiden name was. Someone else told me it was Kinney. Can you tell me which is right?

I do know I am related to some Davis, but I don't know how yet. I am trying to find out.

This appears to be the person I have recorded in my records as Clifford Frederick Ranslow, son of Daniel W. Ranslow and Mary Densmore.

I also have the middle name as Frederick in my database. It's uncited, indicating I've had it a long time. Charlotte's FGS had Henry as middle name. Maybe "Frederick" is more misinformation from the Ancestral File?

The names Edith Friss, Daniel W. Ranslow, and Mary Densmore are so familiar that I was really surprised not to find them in my database. Somewhere around here I must have a piece of paper with those names on it that I didn't get around to entering the my database.

My database has Clifford marrying a Marion Otto before 1939. Dorothy is perhaps a second wife.

OBITUARY--DAVIS

David Henry Davis was born at Fredrickstown, Ohio, July 24, 1851, and died at Viroqua July 30, 1924, of heart failure, age 73 years and six days. He came to Wisconsin with his parents when he was twelve
years of age. Living in Richland county all but one year spent in Kansas until moving to Readstown, Wisconsin, in the year 1902. On March 11, 1877, he was united in marriage to Isabell Searls. To this
union was born four children, one dying in infancy. He leaves to mourn his loss, his devoted wife, three children, Mrs. E. G. Renslow, of Lamont, Iowa; Floyd, of Waterloo, Iowa, and James, of Viroqua. A
granddaughter, Mrs. Elma Brigson, of Readstown, Wisconsin, was raised in the Davis home and has always been a daughter to them. There are also eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Clara Byrd, of Richland Center. Two brothers, Harrison, of Richland Center, and Charlie, of Grey Eagle, Minn., besides a host of other relatives and friends.
Soon after his marriage he united with the Methodist Episcopal church and was a member until August 18, 1919, when he united with the Latter Day Saints and was a devoted member until death.
Funeral was held Saturday morning at 10 a. m. at the Methodist Episcopal church by Elder Dutton, of Madison. Interment was made in the Readstown cemetery.
