The Emmons School District #33 is located just south of the Village of Antioch, Illinois. Part of the district is within the village limits and part lies in unincorporated Antioch Township. Antioch is a quaint village of 10,000
residents just south of the Wisconsin border, midway between Chicago and Milwaukee, each being about an hour travel. The Emmons School District was established in 1844 on property donated by landowner Myron Emmons.

Myron Emmons and Artamissa Emmons appeared on the census of 1850 in Antioch, Lake County, Illinois, which lists Miron [sic] Emmons, 44, born in Massachusetts [sic, actually New York]; his wife Artimesia, 44, born in New York; their children (all born in New York) Helen [Stanford], 24, Mira [sic], 22, Rockwell, 20, Theodore, 16, and Harrison, 9; daugher Helen's husband Charles Stanford, 32, born in New York, and their daugther Jane, 2, born in Illinois; Artimesia's father Miron [sic] Stevens, 60, born in New York [sic, actually Connecticut]; Sarah Hann, 12, born in New York [who apparently married Rockwell Emmons in about 1860]; and John Rice, 34, born in New York, and his daughter Marilla, 3, born in Illinois -- perhaps John was the husband of a deceased Emmons daughter?4

Biography

Permelian was born on circa 1821. She married Joanathan Clark on before 1845. She married Lettis Weston on 19 May 1849 in Scranton, Greene County, Iowa.
Subject: 1850 Census Nancy Renslow
Date: Tue, 7 Sep 1999
From: "Charlotte Falkowski"

Larry Renslow posted a message in February 1999 regarding the 1850 US Census of Freetown, Bristol County, Mass.
**********************************************************************
I believe that William RUMMELS and Lydia RUMMELS, ages 85 and 70 respectively, are George Renslow's first wife's parents.
I believe that "Lettia" Weston should be "Lettis" Weston who married Permelia RENSLOW. None of the ages agree, although there is a death certificate for her in Boston, but I never sent for it.
Milley WESTON is most likely a nickname for Permelia,
although the age is not in agreement with other info I have on her. The census shows her to be 35 while I have her at 29. But, then, I find that ages for all of these people jump all over the place.
Nancy RENSLOW is undoubtedly Nancy Benson and the mother of "Milley" (Permelia).
I show Permelia Renslow marrying Lettis Weston in Freetown on 19 May 1849.
