Obituary

Graveside funeral services will be held in the West Side District Cemetery on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. for Taft resident, Gemma C. Houghton, 76. Father David Greskowiak will officiate at the service.

Mrs. Houghton was born to Paul and Maryann (Sammut) Azzopardi in Malta on July 19, 1935 and passed away in Taft on March 25, 2012. She moved to Kern County and settled in Taft in 1966. Mrs. Houghton enjoyed knitting and watching and feeding birds.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Azzopardi, and two sisters, Lena Farrugia and Lillie Rogers. Her survivors include her husband, her children and their spouses, her brother, her two sisters, her several grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
