She was born Dec. 5, 1916, in Patch Grove, the daughter of Leroy and Pearletta (Harville) Cohoe. She married Kenneth Leroy Houghton on Feb. 15. 1935, in Beetown. She was a homemaker and a secretary at the Sauk Prairie Schools until her retirement in 1981.
Surviving are a son, Lawrence (Dolores) Houghton, Cassville; two daughters, Karen (Bob) Adrian, Milwaukee; June (Roger) Loomis, Loganville; nine grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Velma Morehead, Lancaster,

PEKIN -- Mildred Eleanora Houghton, 83, of 1540 El Camino Drive died at 5:03 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, 1996, at Pekin Hospital.

Born April 4, 1913, in Glenayre, Ind., to Charles Isaac and Pansy Cordelia Lloyd Laycox, she married Clifton Arnold Hougton Sr. on Feb. 17, 1934, in Peoria. He died Jan. 26, 1996, in Pekin. One sister also preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, Clifton A. Jr. of Antioch and Thomas W. of Peoria; one daughter, Barbara Jean DeJaynes of Pekin; one sister, Kathryn Bernard of Granbury, Texas; one brother, Charles Isaac Laycox Jr. of Salem, Mo; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pekin and the Order of Eastern Star Cloverleaf Chapter 1002 in East Peoria. She was a former member of Pekin Country Club.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Dr. R. David Goodell will officiate. Burial of cremains will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.

Andrea Jane (Houghton) Brodersen, 59, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2009 of cancer at Hospice Center of Kitsap County surrounded by family and lifelong friends.
Andrea was born November 29, 1949 in Bremerton to Bonnie (Anderson) Whitehead and Charles Houghton. She grew up with her brothers Gary, Philip, Richard and David. She attended West Bremerton High and graduated in 1969.
She married her first love, Michael George Brodersen November 30, 1969 and they made their home in Bremerton where they raised their sons Michael and Richard.
Andrea devoted her life to raising and loving children, both her sons and her daycare children. She provided daycare services in a loving home to families in Kitsap County for over 35 years.
Throughout her life, Andrea enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors camping with her husband, children and family friends. She also enjoyed reading books, card games, knitting and decorating for the holidays.
Andrea will be missed deeply by her brothers, sons, grandson, Gage, and her many friends. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 5th at 2 p.m. at the Sylvan Way Baptist Church in Bremerton.
Her family would especially like to thank the staff of Hospice of Kitsap County for the care and support they gave her in her final two months of life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Kitsap County PO Box 3416 Silverdale, WA 98383. An online memorial can be seen at www.lewischapel.com.
