Terald David Houghton (Terry) age 69, long time resident of Austin passed away on September 18, 2016 and is now with the Lord.

Terry was born November 15, 1946 to Gerald & Alice Lanelle Houghton. He graduated from St. Edwards Catholic High School in 1965 and proudly served his country as a Boiler Tech 3 in US Navy aboard the USS Sellers in tours patrolling the Mediterranean and supporting allied countries during the 6 days war. Terry married Brenda J. Lashly Houghton on April 1, 1967 and remained happily married to her for 39 yrs. before her passing in 2006. In November 2005, he retired from the Texas Department of Transportation after 43yrs. Terry Loved and enjoyed Family above all, took time to enjoy natures wonders, and possessed a genuinely warm, willing soul that strived in making a positive impact to the world.
Terry is survived by his sons, Scott Houghton of Austin, Matt Houghton and wife Maribel of Round Rock; Grandson (Scott’s son) Justin Houghton; sister, Susan Kelly and husband Mike; brother, Danny Houghton; uncle, Wally Houghton; sister –in-law Karen & husband Tom; nieces, Kris, Christy, Toni, Sarah, Rebecca and their families; and nephews Neil , Eric, Tim, Marc, and their families.
Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday September 28, 2016:
The Holy Rosary will be recited at 10a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 11a.m at Beck Funeral Home, Round Rock, Texas.
2p.m. Terry will be laid to rest next to his wife, Brenda, at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery (Hancock Dr.), Austin, Texas with military honors.
