Born Oct. 20, 1971, to Gerald J. and Ann (Holte) Palmer. She was a 1989 graduate of Hononegah High School and attended Illinois State. Employed with Maryville Academy and was a member of St. Mary Church, both in Durand. Kristine was a devoted mother, a Girl Scout Leader, youth baseball coach and had a passion for motorcycle riding. She is survived by her children, Zachary and Amber Houghton of Durand; parents, Gerald J. Palmer of Rockford and Ann Palmer of Jacksonville, Fla; former spouse, Kip Houghton of Durand; grandparents, Archie (Margaret) Holte of Machesney Park and Lila Palmer of Rockford; brother, Dan Palmer of Roscoe; sisters, Stephanie and Andrea Palmer of Machesney Park; aunts, uncles and many cousins; and close friend, Kassy Lumsden of Durand.
