A memorial service is being held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 26, 2008 at Jim's church, Unity Church on Highland Avenue in Birmingham. Jim is survived by his mother Carmen Houghton, sister Theresa Pitts, brother in law Ronald Pitts, sister Lee Yount, nephew Matthew Pitts, great niece Harmony, nieces Christina and Darcie Yount and family members Ben, Kenneth, and Dennis Nichols. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to United Cerbral Palsy or Unity Church of Birmingham.
