MOUNT OLIVE — Hubert Clifton Haughton, 84, a blacksmith and welder, died of heart failure Sunday at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian.
Services are 11 a.m. today at Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home with burial in Rockhill Cemetery in Covington County.
Mr. Haughton was a Mount Olive native and the widower of Linnie Haughton.
Survivors include: daughters, Mary Ellen Temple of Sandersville, Bonnie H. Thompson of Meridian and Sadie Parker of Savannah, Ga; sister, Peggy Haughton and Olivia Haughton, both of Collins; and two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Silas E. Haughton Sr.
retired rural letter carrier
Silas E. "Gene" Haughton Sr„ 70, of Manchester Avenue, a retired rural letter carrier, died of a stroke Monday in Methodist Medical Center
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home with burial in Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Haughton, a Buena Vista native, had lived in Jackson since 1970. Before moving to Jackson, he lived in Collins, where he worked for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran He was past president of the Rural Mail Carriers and a member of Midway Baptist Church
Survivors include: daughter. Sandra Bodkin of Brandon; sons. Silas E. Haughton Jr of Brandon and James Russell Haughton of Pearl; sisters. Olivia Haughton and Peggy Haughton. both of Collins; brother. Herbert Haughton of Mount Olive; and four grandchildren.
