     He died on 12 September 1936 at Ottawa Civic Hospital, Ottawa, Carleton County, Ontario, Canada, at age 70 according to Ontario Death Registration 011853.5,2 The cause of his death was given as prostate cancer.5
     The following selected information is extracted from his obituary. Survivor(s): Augusta Louise Runtz, George Scheel, Clarence Scheel, Leslie Scheel, Mabel Kuehl, Mrs. Albert Verch, Henry Scheel, Charles Scheel and August Scheel.2 The informant on his death registration was L H Scheel, his son.5 Herman Scheel was buried on 14 September 1936 at Albert Street Cemetery - Block F, Arnprior, McNab Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada. The pallbearers were: August Scheel, Charles Scheel, Albert F W Verch, John Henry Runtz and Henry Scheel.5,6,2

     Herman Scheel and Auguta E appeared on the 1901 Canadian Census of Arnprior, Renfrew County, Ontario, enumerated 31 March 1901. Herman was enumerated as a Labourer, possibly in a mill. Their children George W, Clarence W and Alvin L were listed as living with them.3
     The following obituary appeared Ottawa Journal published in Ottawa, Ontario 16 September 1936:
Funeral of H. Scheel
Arnprior, Sept. 15 - (Special)
Attended by relatives from McNab and Arnprior, and by many former fellow employes (sic) of McLauchlin Bros. Ltd., the funeral of Herman Scheel was held from his home yesterday, with interment in the Arnprior cemetery. A life-long employe (sic) of the lumber mills, Mr. Scheel died on Friday in his 72nd year. Rev. A. E. Jaster, minister of the First Baptist Church, officiated.

Chief mourners were, his widow; three sons, George, Clarence and Leslie Scheel, of Arnprior; one daughter, Mabel (Mrs. Fred Kuehl), of Arnprior; one sister, Mrs. Albert Verch, of Arnprior; four brothers, William, of McNab; Henry, of Kitchener; Charles and August, both of Arnprior.

Pallbearers were, four brothers, August, William and Charles, of Arnprior, Henry, of Kitchener, Albert Verch, John Runtz.2



     In the obituary of Augusta Louise Runtz who died 13 April 1967, her husband, Hemas (sic) Sheel was listed as predeceased.7
     In the obituary of Mabel Minnie Louise Kuehl who died 4 March 2005, Mabel's father, Herman Scheel was listed as predeceased.4
