     Two of Nortonville's most worthy and popular young people were the happy participants in a pretty marriage ceremony Wednesday night when Miss Ethel McCoy became Mr. Edgar (sic) Ellerman's bride. Mr. and Mrs. Ellerman will live on the old Ellerman farm east of town and have always with them the best wishes of many friends. 1.11

     May 14th 1902. at the residence of the bride's parents, about five miles east of Valley Falls, at 8 P. M. Mr. Edward F. Ellerraan and Miss Ethel G. McCoy were united In marriage by the Rev. S. M. Hood, in the presence of a large number of invited guests.
     The happy couple were the recipients of many valuable and useful presents. The good wishes of many friends follow them. Mr. and Mrs. Ellerman will occupy the Ellerman home four miles east of Xortonville.9

Obituary — McCoy
     Carl McCoy was born near Nortonville May 16, 1882, and died near place of birth September 23, 1921, aged 38 years, 4 months and 7 days.
     He grew up on the farm and was married to Marv L. Miller of Nortonville, October 8, 1901.
     To this union three children were born, Mrs. Wm. Hoffman, and sons. Barney and Pern, who survive. He is also survived by hie parents, Mrs. W. H. McCoy. brother Clarence and sister Mrs. Melvin Stafford of Valle Falls. His older sister, Mrs. Ed Ellerman and brothers Ralph and Fred of Nortonville. They have the deep sympathy of everybody.
     The funeral was held at the heme Sunday afternoon in the presence of a large assembly.
     The burial was in the Nortonville cemetery.6

HYMENEAL
     On Wednesday evening, October 26 occurred the marriage of Miss Elizabeth Baur to Ralph McCoy at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Baur. At seven thirty o'clock the happy couple took their place beneath a large flower bell, and in front of a solid background of autumn leave and Arbor Vitae that reached from floor to ceiling, while Miss Gertrude Baur, a sister of the bride played the wedding march Rev, Clay Bobbitt officiated with the ring ceremony. The bride was tastefully dressed in a very pretty gown of white organdie trimmed in baby Irish lace. The groom wore the conventional black. Upon pronouncing them husband and wife, the secret cord was pulled which caused an abundance of rice to shower upon them.
     After the ceremony a splendid two course supper wa served. About forty guest were present many of them being out of town friends of the bride and groom.
     The groom i a son of Mr. and Mr. W. H. McCoy of near Valley Falls and his friends are numbered by his acquaintances.
     The bride grew to young woman hood in Nortonville and is one of its most loved and popular young ladies.
     We rejoice that Mr. and Mrs. McCoy are going to make their home in Nortonville, the groom having furnished a beautiful home in the south part of town. Their many friends extend congratulations. The out of town guests were: Miss Ruth Merry of Baldwin, Miss Eula Johnson of Kansas City, Miss Gladys Seever and the Misses Mattocks of Atchison, Miss Helen Griffin of Topeka, Miss Grace Glasselof Valley Falls and Mrs. J. A. Hatfield of St. Joe.10

OBITUARY
     William C. Galloway, son of the late Martin and Anna Galloway, was born in Clay County, Illinois, February 25, 1895, and his spirit departed this life, August 26, 1948, at the age at 58 years, 6 months, and one day.
     He was united in marriage with Katie Emery, who died to 1917. Mr. Galloway' then enlisted in the U. 8. Army, world. War I, and served overseas to the Third Division, Fourth Infantry.
     In 1922, he was joined in wedlock with Miss Oma Musgrove, who has been a devoted companion and helpmeet. Their home was blessed with four children, three daughters and one son. They are Mrs. Dallas (Eileen) Welch of Ingraham; Mrs. Sylvan (Mabel) Rude of Dieterich; Mrs. Roy (Anna) Shaner of Ridge Farm, Illinois, and Lowell at home.
     In youth Willie accepted Christ aa Saviour and became a member of the South Muddy Baptist Church; later he transferred his membership to the McQueen Chapel congregation of the church of Christ. He faithfully served his Lord, and the church to many ways, having been Superintendent of the Bible School, as well as Elder for many years, which office he held at death.
     The deceased is survived by his companion and children, four grandchildren, Darrell and Rita Welch, and Glenn and Jimmy Rude, one brother, Henry Galloway of Dieterich, one sister, Mrs. Charles (Bessie) Diets, also of Dieterich, a great many relatives, and.a host of friends, who mourn his departure.
     Funeral services were conducted at McQueen Chapel at two o'clock Saturday afternoon, August 28. The large attendance of friends, relatives and neighbors evidenced the esteem in which the deceased was held. The music was furnished by a trio from the Ingraham Christian church. They were John Brant, Fletcher Fulk and Elmer Fehrenbacher, accompanied by Mrs. George (Marie) Welch. The casket bearers Bruce A. Morgan, Fred McKinney. Harry O. Garner, Ernest Clagg, and Howard C. and John Chesnut. Burial was in the Headyville Cemetery. The services were conducted by Turis E. Davis minister assisted by J. M. Chesnut retired minister.2

Lena was born in Ingerham, IL. and is the daughter of Jacob George Rinehart and Flora Catherine Eckart. Lena married Lawrence Edward Emery, October 10, 1914 in Newton, IL.

They farmed in the Maroa, Il area until purchasing farm land near Atwater, IL and moving there about 1922.

Lena and Lawrence had five children, Scott, Orville, Oscar, Paul and Virginia.
After retiring from farming, the couple moved to Carlinville, IL. Lena kept many scrapbooks of family weddings, funeral clippings, etc. She enjoyed making quilts for her children and grandchildren. She had a frog collection and also liked cactus plants. She always enjoyed visiting with her children and grandchildren and very interested in the future.

Lena's sibblings: Fronia, who died as an infant; Celestia Rinehart McKinney; Henry Rinehart.

Lena's parents are buried in Smith Cemetery, southeast of Sailor Springs, IL.7

     An article about an early automobile trip by Silas Nowlin published on 30 September 1905 at the newspaper the Decatur Herald referenced Jessie May Heft, her nephew Louis' future wife, accompanying him on the trip.9

Announce Engagement
The engagement and approaching marriage of Dr. Owen W. E. Nowlin, of Farmer City, ot Miss Anna Margaret Carson, of Belleflower, was made recently by the bride's parents. Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Carson. The date of the wedding has not been made known.

Dr. Nowlin is the son of Dr. Jont A. Nowlin who has been an osteopathic physician in Farmer City for more than 18 years. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois receiving a bachelor of science degree from that college and also graduated from the Physicians' and Surgeons' college of Chicago receiving his M.D. degree there. He has spent the past two years as an interne (sic) in the California hospital located at Los Angeles, Cal.

Miss Carson comes from a very prominent family in Belle flower. She is also a graduate of the U. of I. with the class of 1922.

The couple will probably locate in California following the wedding.3

     He was born on 13 July 1892 at Macon, Austin Twp., Macon County, Illinois, USA.3,4 Ralph married Alodia A Hutchison.6,5
     Ralph N Curry died on 28 August 1947 at Hines Veterans Hosiptial, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, USA, at age 55. His death registration indicates he was an osteopath.3,1,2,7
     
     His name was also recorded as Ralph Everett Curry.3,4,5,7
     Ralph appeared on the 1900 Federal Census Sheridan Twp., Phelps County, Nebraska in the household of his parents, Albert and Martha Curry.4
     Dr. R. E. Curry attended the funeral of his uncle, Dr. J. A. Nowlin on 4 September 1928 at the newspaper, The Pantagraph, Bloomington, Illinois, USA.8
     The following obituary appeared in the newspaper the Farmer City Journal published in Farmer City, Illinois 4 September 1947:
DR. RALPH CURRY FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN SYCAMORE (sic)
     Dr. and Mrs. Owen Nowlin, Dr. and Mrs. Wilfred Nowlin, and Mrs. Emma Nowlin attended the military funeral services for Dr. Ralph Everett Curry at Sycamore, Sunday afternoon.
     Dr. Curry died Thursday, Aug. 28 at the Hines Veterans hospital, where he had been, a patient the past two weeks. He had been in frail health for several months.
     Dr. Curry was associated with Dr. J. B. Nowlin in this city from 1914 to 1921. He moved from here to Sycamore where he and his family have resided since. He served in both World War I and II as First Lieutenant and Major.
     One daughter survives. His wife preceded him in death three years ago.7
