Among the first weddings this week will be the marriage of Miss Dorothy Jane Wilson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Wilson, 600 West Main street. She will become the bride of Charles M. Edwards. son of Mrs. Paul Sloan of Centralia, at 4:30 p. m. today. The ceremony will be performed by Dr. E. E Freed in the First Presbyterian church. Attendants will be the bride's sister, Miss Helen Maree Wilson, and Miss Martha Kilton of Monticello. Miss Ada Smith of Pittsfield. Miss Margaret Garner of Baton Rouge. La., and Miss Florence Longsdorff of Maroa. A reception for the immediate families and relatives will follow in the home of the bride's parents. Saturday evening, rehearsal dinner was in the bride's home, for the bridal party. Miss Wilson was graduated from MacMurray college last month. The couple will live in New York City after Mr. Edwards receives his master's degree in electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston.4

Charles was the Associate Director, Technical Department, Bendix Research Lab, Detroit, MI. He is a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, MA (M.S. 1941). The name given to him at birth was Martin Levi Edwards, but he changed his name to Charles Martin Edwards when he started school. He was the son of Charles O. Edwards and Marguerite (Klein) Edwards.

He married Dorothy Jane Wilson on 22 Jun 1941 in Decatur, Illinois.

Charles' remains were cremated and then on 11 Apr 2015, his ashes, together with those of his spouse, Dorothy Jane (Wilson) Edwards, and the ashes of Charles and Dorothy Jane's grandson, Warren Andrew Miller were also buried at the home of Charles' and Dorothy Jane's daughter in Sebastopol, California.1

     He died on 30 June 1930 in Bradley Street, Eastview, Carleton County, Ontario, Canada, at age 96 according to his to Ontario Death Registration. He was probably living with his son Elgin, the informant on this registration, who was also living on Bradley Street.1,3 The informant on his death registration was his son, Elgin Surtees.3 The cause of his death was given as senile debility. He had been confined to bed for about a year.3 James Surtees was buried on 2 July 1930 in Clarence Twp., Russell County, Ontario.3
     He was the informant on the death registration of his mother, Cynthia Surtees who died on 22 November 1898.5

     He and Anna Elizabeth Schettke immigrated in 1869 to Canada from Germany according to the 1901 census, accompanied by Frederick, Mary and Hanna.15,4 Martin Noack performed the marriage ceremony for Christian Noack and Elizabeth Regel on 25 July 1869 in St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church, Alice Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada; by banns according to Ontario Marriage Registration (General No. 2051) I assume that witnesses Martin and Johann Noack of Stafford Twp. were his cousins, the sons of Matthias Noack. The other two witnesses were Fred'k and Mich'l Biesenthal of Alice Twp.16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26 Martin Noack was naturalized in 1871 in Canada.4

     He was born on 16 March 1839 in Schmelvitz, Kottbus, Frankfurt, Prussia (modern Germany), since he died at age 79 years, 9 months and 21 days.4,7,8,9,10 Alternatively, he was born on 27 March 1837 in Germany according to the 1901 census11,6 or circa 1841 in Germany since his marriage registration gives age as 31. It also gives his place of birth as Provence or Province Germany.12,13 Alternatively, he was born circa 1843 in Germany since he was age 38 in the 1881 census.14 Johann married Wilhelmine Albertine Frederick Mielke on 1 August 1872 in St. Paul's Church, Alice Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada.15,16,7,17,13,9,11,14,10
     He died on 6 January 1919 in Locksley, Stafford Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada, at age 79 according to Ontario Death Registration 028468.18,19,5,20 The cause of his death was given as died of an enlargement of his heart, with the immediate cause being exhaustion.20 The informant on his death registration was his son, Herman Noack.20 Johann Gottlieb Noack was buried in Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church (Locksley), Alice Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada.19,8
     He also went by the name of John in many Canadian records reflecting an anglicization of his name after coming to Canada.7,8,21,14 He immigrated in 1847 to Canada West, United Province of Canada, from Germany according to the 1911 census.9 He immigrated in 1869 to Canada from Germany according to the 1901 census.4,11 He performed the marriage ceremony for Christian Noack and Elizabeth Regel on 25 July 1869 in St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church, Alice Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada; by banns according to Ontario Marriage Registration (General No. 2051) I assume that witnesses Martin and Johann Noack of Stafford Twp. were his cousins, the sons of Matthias Noack. The other two witnesses were Fred'k and Mich'l Biesenthal of Alice Twp.22,23,24,25,26,27,28,29,30,31,32 John Noack of Stafford Twp., Renfrew County was the informant on the death registration of his mother, Annie N Schulge who died on 20 February 1878.33
     In the obituary of Mary Noack who died 31 May 1932, Mary's father, John Noack was listed as predeceased.34
     In the obituary of Wilhelmina Noack who died 8 July 1944, Wilhelmina's father, John Noack was listed as predeceased.35
