Caveat: James E. Barnes, Sr. (1700-1771) of Killingham, CT, is
not the same person as Janes Barnes (1700-1759) of New Haven, CT. There is evidently much confusion in this area.
There is apparently a detailed will of
James [E.] BARNES h/o
Elizabeth [Lorton] and with children mentioned: Nathaniel, James, Robert, Elizabeth COON,
Sarah SUMNER and heirs of Judith GLEAVDON
. At the bottom of the page it says executed September the 29 1772,
James BARNS. Thus, the Sarah Barnes who was the daughter of James E. Barnes and Elizabeth Lorton married a Green Sumner,
not William Campbell.
