AN OLD SETTLER DIES
Roland W. Price of Judson [MN] passed away yesterday morning
Roland W. Price, a prominent farmer and well-known old settler of Judson, died at his family home yesterday [5 March 1905] morning of general debility.
Mr. Price was born at Factory Oakland. Llanwst, Denbighshire [now Conwy County], North Wales, on November 13
th, 1834. He immigrated in this country with his parents in 1843 and settled on a farm near Utica, NY. After living there two years the family moved to Racine, WI. In 1847 they moved to Cambria, WI. They remained there until July 1855, when they moved to South Bend, Minnesota. Mr. Price on his arrival at South Bend formed a partnership with the Hon. D. C. Evans in the milling business. On November 13, 1858, he married Miss Sarah Woods, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Woods of South Bend, who was born at Jackson, Ohio, in August 1843. Mr. and Mrs. Price soon located on a farm in Judson and since that time they have occupied the old homestead. Mr. Price has held a number of offices in his town and has been elder of Seion C. M. [Calvinistic Methodist] Church at Judson for many years. He has been active in every good work. His keen insight and sound judgment won him a prominent place in the presbytery and synod of the Welsh church.
The deceased leaves a wife, four sons and two daughters. The sons are William J., Edward T., David R., and John R. Price, and the daughters Anna J. and Mary E. Price. Two children have died.
The funeral will take place tomorrow noon at the family residence in Judson and at the Seion church in Judson at 1 p. m., the Rev. W. E. Evans of this city officiating. The Interment will be at Minneopa cemetery.
