Mary, the daughter of Archibald McDuffee according to "History of Newbury, VT....." p. 639 by Frederic Wells, was the mother of at least 11 children: Nancy (Robert Orr), John Jr. (Elizabeth), Nathaniel (Catherine Pratt), Elizabeth "Betsey" (James Smith), Sarah (John Orr), Mary (Josiah Pratt), Martha (Johnson Smith), Archibald (Anna Aiken), William (Jenny Glines), Jacob, and David (Hannah Fowler).

In her Will, Mary bequeated "to my sons John, Archibald, and William and to my daughters Nancy Orr, Sarah Orr, Martha Smith, and Betsey Smith, and in case of their decease before my own, to their heirs, and to the heirs of my son Nathaniel the sum of one cent each to be paid out of my estate by my executor....Secondly, to my daughter Mary Prat I give the following articles of clothing to wit a gold ring, a brown silk gown, and all other silk articles I shall die possessed of together with a Cambrick Shawl and pair of thread stockings....Thirdly, to my son David I bequeath twenty acres of land which he formerly deeded to me laying to the North of his land in Topsham and a darning fan....Fourthly, to my grandchildren Hannah, Mary, Jacob, & David, children of the said David Mills, all the remainder of the property....Lastly, I hereby appoint my said son David Mills my true and lawful executor to prove and carry into effect this my last will and testament.
