SonHarry William Perry (b. 22 January 1890, d. 14 September 1971)

Biography

John D. Perry was born on 22 May 1855 in Center Cambridge, Washington County, New York.1 He married Emogene (Emma) Bartlett, daughter of Elisha Williams Bartlett and Palmyra Lewis, on 9 June 1885 in Troy, Rensselaer County, New York.

John D. Perry died on 3 January 1942 in Troy, Rensselaer County, New York, at age 86. He was buried in Oakwood Cemetery (Section Y, Lot 156), Troy, Rensselaer County, New York.
John D. Perry lived in 1890 in 11 Park Avenue, Troy, Rensselaer County, New York, Note: The 1890 Troy, NY, City Directory gives 11 Park Avenue as the address for both Henry M. Morenus and John D. Perry. The John D. Perry family is listed at that address in the 1900 census.2

John D. Perry and Emogene (Emma) Perry appeared on the census of 1900 in 11 Park Avenue, Troy, Rensselaer County, New York, which lists John D. Perry, 43, born May 1857; his wife Emma Perry, 28, born January 1872; and their three sons Clinton, 19, born October 1880, John, 12, born October 1887 [sic, actually 1888], and Harry, 10, born January 1890, all born in New York.1 He was a machinist at a gas factory in 1900.1

Perry, 51; and their sons John B. Perry, 32, and Harry W. Perry, 28, all born in New York.4 He was a gas maker at a gas company in 1920.4

The Perry family lived in Lansingburgh, New York. Apparently the two sons, John B. and Harry, never married and lived with their parents until the parents died; then the sons moved just down the street to smaller (but not small) house and lived out their lives there. Both of them may have been in the military, perhaps in WWI.
