Beverly June Houghton August 23, 1932 - January 20, 2012 Beverly June Houghton, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on January 20th, of natural causes. She was born on August 23, 1932 in Gassville, Arkansas. June attended Tehachapi High School in Tehachapi, California. She married her high school sweetheart, the late Bob Houghton, in 1950. She was a devout Lutheran and was happiest when surrounded by family. She loved to read, had a passion for dancing and always lived by the adage: "laughter is the best medicine." June was preceded in death by husband, Bob; son, Mike Houghton; daughter, Katie Perkins; and parents, Reba Tucker Hanna and Chester Tucker. She is survived by four children: Dave Houghton of Raleigh, N.C; Chuck and Robin Houghton of Huntersville, N.C; Jeff and Lisa Houghton of Edmond, Oklahoma; and Steven and Theresa Houghton of The Woodlands, Texas. She had 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Friday, January 27th, at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at 329 S. Mill St. in Tehachapi, with a reception to follow. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at Tehachapi Public Cemetery on the west side. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of June Houghton to Lutheran Women's Mission League, c/o Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. www.bakersfield.com/obits
