Joseph V. Friel, 69 Of Lancaster Joseph V. Friel, 69, died on November 19, 2011. He was born in Upland, PA to the late Joseph A and Veronica M. (Houghton) Friel. Joe graduated from the former St. James High School in 1960 and from Pennsylvania Military College (now Widener) in 1964. Survivors: Ann-Marie (Gery) Friel his wife of 30 years; his daughter Michaelene (Steven) LaBombard of Plattsburgh, NY; his son Matthew (Jennifer) Friel of Denver, CO; his 4 grandsons Samuel and Benjamin Friel and Jack and Nicholas LaBombard, who lovingly referred to him as "Poppy". Other survivors include 3 siblings Mary V. (George) Watson of Chester, PA, Sister Gertrude Friel SSJ of Drexel Hill, PA and Clare R. (John) O'Donnell of Springfield, PA; as well as nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by his brother Larry R. Friel. HAUGHTON Jeanne Gammon Haughton died at home on December 6, 2011. Born in 1926 in Jacksonville, Jeanne was a graduate from Ogonts College, New York, with a degree in Home Economics. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Julian Eugene Gammon and Lamar Lewis Gammon. She was active during her younger years as a hospital volunteer pink lady and served as a Red Cross volunteer during World War II. She was also an accomplished tennis player. Jeanne was a member of The Jacksonville Garden Club, The Colonial Dames, The Junior League of Jacksonville, and The Florida Yacht Club. She made her debut in Jacksonville with the coterie of 1947 and was a member of St. Marks Episcopal Church. She is survived by her daughter, Lamar Holcombe (Joseph); her son, Malachi, IV; granddaughters, Emily Haughton (Pepper), Paige Haughton (Marchman), Jeanne Lamar Colbert Petersen, and Amelia Colbert. Also surviving her is great-grandson, William Edward Petersen, Jr. Memorials may be made to St. Marks Episcopal Church of Jacksonville, FL in memory of Jeanne Gammon Haughton.
