ObituaryFeb 28, 1963Thomas J. Houghton, 84- year-old father of Mrs. Porter L. Ellison of 46 Monroe St. in Opp died Saturday night. His home was in Ponce de Leon, Fla.
The body lay in state Sunday night at the Ellison home and was carried to Ponce de Leon by Rainer’s Monday morning, where it lay in state until 10:00 o’clock Tuesday morning.
Funeral services were held from Sandy Creek Baptist Church in Holmes County, Fla., the Rev. George Eden, Rev. Paul Beck and Rev. J. B. Rouse officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery, with Rainer’s Funeral Home of Opp directing.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Porter L. Ellison, Opp and Mrs. Myrtle H. Padgett, Ponce de Leon, Fla., one son, Reese C. Houghton, Ponce de Leon; two brothers, Albert J. Houghton, Daytona Beach, Fla., W. W. Houghton, Pensacola, Fla., 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

William Washington Haughton, 84, c 1021 North Q St., died Thursday morning in a local hospital after a long illness.
He was a native of Alabama, but has resided here the last 20 years. He was a member of the Brownsville Baptist Church and the Big Brothers Sunday School Class. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Anna Lee Haughton of Pensacola; a daughter, Mrs. Louise Thorpe of Pensacola; two sons, Stinson (Bill) Haughton of Pensacola and Glen Haughton of Antique British West Indies; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Brownsville Baptist Church with the Rev. CI at on Baker and the Rev. Jeff Rousseau officiating.
Burial will be In Pensacola Memorial Garden Cemetery with Faith Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Active pallbearers will be Lawaine. Jerry, Bill and Reese Haughton, Edward and Billy Sutton, Joe Ammons, Carlton and Bob Rhodes.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of the Brownsville Baptist Church and members of the Big Brothers Sunday school class.
