HAVANA - Ruth M. Houghton, 74, of Cassville, Wis., the mother of a Havana man, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at her residence after a battle with cancer.

Born April 8, 1929, in Lancaster, Wis., to Harry and Clara Bryhan Bossert, she married Melvin Houghton on July 19, 1947, in Burton, Wis. He survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Ruth (and Stephen) Kundert of Madison, Wis., Deborah (and David) Byrge of West Allis, Wis., and Mary (and Randy) Hatlen, Lomira, Wis; one son, Daniel (and Leah) Houghton of Havana; one brother, Louis Bossert of Cassville; her stepmother, Helen Bossert of Lancaster, Wis; one half-brother, Bruce Bossert of Nashville, Tenn; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Cassville. The Rev. Ruth Shriver will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Martin Page Funeral Home in Cassville. Further visitation will be one hour before services Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in the Cassville Cemetery in Cassville.¹

Deceased Name: Hall, Anne Elizabeth Houghton
Hall, Anne Elizabeth Houghton, late of Summerland Key, FL and most recently of Pembroke Pines, FL, died on September 14, 2003, after a long illness. Mrs. Hall was a graduate of Bridgewater College, Bridgewater, MA. She taught school in Massachusetts and later for the Board of Education of Montgomery County where she was initially a classroom teacher for the elementary classes and later a resources teacher for the Board's Gifted and Talented program. Mrs. Hall was also very active in the AMVETS Auxiliary, as State President for Massachusetts for 1958, while her husband, Ralph E. Hall, was State Commander. Mrs. Hall continued in the Auxiliary for the year 1960-1961, during which she traveled the country as part of the AMVET Nuclear Safety Program. Mrs. Hall was also very active in the United States Power Squadron since moving to FL. In 1992-1993 she was Commander for District 8, which comprises the Florida Keys. She continued in various Power Squadron positions thereafter. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ralph E. Hall, as well as by her sons, Ralph E. Hall Jr. And Harold S. Hall, their wives Suzanne Roland Hall and Lynette Hall, and grandchildren Ralph E. Hall III, Stephen Hall, Michael Hall, Shannon Hall, Kenneth Hall and Hayley Hall. Services will be held at the Veterans Administration Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL on Friday, September 19, 2003 at 1:00 PM. Arrangements entrusted to Fred Hunter's Hollywood Memorial Gardens Home.¹
