Biography

Born and raised in Salina, Kansas, Jennifer M. Houghton
developed a strong interest in art at an early age. She began
winning art competitions in high school and from that time
pursued art as her vocation.
Jennifer received a strong classical art education in
Pensacola, FL from Pensacola Christian College and graduated
with a bachelor's degree in Commercial Art. After working
for Jostens Yearbook Co. as a Create Resource Artist in
Topeka, KS and an Artist for an Carpentree Inc. in Tulsa,
Oklahoma, Jennifer began to pursue art full-time.
Jennifer has also taken art classes from Dan Gerhartz, and
Matt Smith among other artists who continue to inspire her.
Her distinctive landscapes and still life paintings are in
private and public collections nationwide. She is an
associate member of the Oil Painters of America and has
participiated in many group shows, including the Salon
International 2004 at The Green House Gallery in San Antonio,
Texas and The 2004 Richard Schmid Fine Art Auction in
Bellevue, Colorado.
Jennifer currently paints about five or six days a week in
her studio as well as plein-aire painting. Her work is
represented by Green Country Gallery in Broken Arrow,
