Michael A. Houghton, 59, of Moxee died Friday at Providence Yakima Medical Center.

Born in Harrah, he owned Central Valley Juice for 17 years and also traveled extensively.

Survivors include his wife, Willa Houghton of Moxee; his children, Don Houghton of Tangent, Ore., Teri Pavel of Kennewick, Lorraine Shannon of Yakima, and Tori, Tami and Toni, all of Alaska; his parents, Don Houghton of Kirkland and Charlotte Houghton of Yakima; four sisters, Kay Barchus and Ann Fraley, both of Yakima, Shirley Kraft of Edmonds and Jeri Creason of Kirkland; and 10 grandchildren.

The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Harrah Grace Brethren Church.¹

Clark Ferguson Houghton (5/1/1926-still living) enlisted in the Air Corp. when he was 17 and was in the cadet program. But as the war was winding down he was sent to aviation mechanic school. From there he went to Seattle and Boeing B-29 school He was sent to Germany where he served in the army occupation. After discharge, he went to MO School of Mines (Now MU at Rolla) where he earned his BS in Civil Engineering. He has spent the last 54 years working for Shell or selling their products as a jobber. He married Orvalynn Francis Burns on September 2, 1950. She went to a one room school and her folks were farmers. They have two children – Lynda and Keith. My Grandfather (Bud) and Clark had a disagreement years ago and my side of the family has had no communication with Clark’s side of the family in my lifetime until this past summer (2007) when I reestablished contact. A lot of my knowledge of the Houghtons comes from Clark’s memory and records.

PERRY POINT. Md. — Cornelius P Houghton Jr. 61. of the Veterans Administration Medical renter. Perry Point, formerly of Wilmington. Del., died Wednesday at the hospital after a long illness
Mr. Houghton, an Army veteran of World War II. had been a patient at the hospital for about 35 years. Before the war. he worked for United Engineers in Wilmington.
He is survived by a brother. James T., of Rchoboth Beach. Del., and a sister, Catherine Gi- ovannozzi of Wilmington.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered tomorrow morning at 9 at St* Joseph's on the Brandywine Catholic Church. Greenville, Del., with burial in the church cemetery

JAMES T. HOUGHTON, a wrestling promoter in Wilmington in the 1940s, died Tuesday of heart failure at home, 29 Marshall Road, Rehoboth Beach. He was 85.
Mr. Houghton promoted bouts at the Wilmington Armory from 1942 until the state disallowed sporting events there in 1947. Af- ter that, he was a promoter in White Plains, N.Y., and then at the Camden (N.J.) Convention Hall until it burned in the 1950s.
He owned Houghton Firebrick Co., a Wilmington insulation firm, for 15 years. He retired in 1973 and moved to Rehoboth Beach. Earlier, he was a member of the Bricklayers union for 50 years.
Mr. Houghton was a member of St. Edmond’s Catholic Church, Rehoboth Beach, and the Order of Eagles, Wilmington. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary V. Strain Houghton, and a sister, Catherine M. Giovannozzi of Wilmington.
A memorial Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Edmond’s Catholic Church, King Charles and Laurel streets, Rehoboth Beach. Private burial will be in St. Joseph’s on the Brandywine Cemeterv Greenville
