He had lived at Rt. 1 Everett, for 58 years. Houghton leaves the widow, Dora, of Cie Elum; a daughter, Mrs. Steve (Irene) Banich of Cie Elum; two brothers, Frank of Everett, and Robert of Toronto, Canada; a sister, Mrs. Mary E. Davies of Vancouver, British Columbia, and another brother in England; a grandson, Patrick Wilson of Humble, Texas; four great - grandchildren, also of Humble, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews in England, Canada and the United States. He was a past master of Alpha Lodge F&AM, Everett, a member of the Centennial Masonic Lodge, Snohomish, past worthy high priest of the Snohomish Royal Arch Masons, past worthy patron of Goldenrod Chapter No. 22, Order of Eastern Star, Snohomish, member of Scottish Rite Bodies, a member of Nile Temple, Seattle Shrine, a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and a former member of St John’s Episcopal Church, Snohomish. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Holy Nativity Episcopal Church, 5 Cie Elum, with the Rev. LeRoy .Beard of Cie Elum officiating, L under the direction of Coleman-
Brown Chapel. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. in the GAR Cemetery, Snohomish, with the Rev. James E. Price in charge. Royal Arch Masons of Snohomish will conduct the services. Purdy and Dawson Funeral Home of Snohomish is making local arrangements.

Deceased Name: Gerald Haines Houghton
of Yarrow Point died June 14, 2002, at Overlake Hospital Medical Center in Bellevue. He was 76. Mr. Houghton was born April 18, 1926, in Yakima. He was raised in Zillah and attended Zillah High School. Mr. Houghton served as a medic in the Navy during World War II, stationed in the South Pacific. Following the war, he attended Washington State University, graduating in 1950. Mr. Houghton played football in college and then professionally for the Washington Redskins. In 1959, Mr. Houghton moved to Bellevue and worked as a Realtor, eventually starting his own agency, Jerry Houghton Realty of Issaquah. Mr. Houghton married Ruth A. Linge in 1967, and the couple settled in Bellevue.
In his leisure time, Mr. Houghton enjoyed watching football, traveling and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Kenneth and Douglas Houghton; his daughters Cynthia Kay of Bellevue, Merrilee Knight of Yakima and Denisse Hedman of Bothell; and six grandchildren.2

BiographyGerald Haines Houghton (April 18, 1926 – June 1, 2002) was an American football offensive tackle in the National Football League for the Washington Redskins and the Chicago Cardinals. He played college football at Washington State University and was drafted in the seventh round of the 1950 NFL Draft. He played 14 games.5
