Bea was born on March 9,1917 in North Dakota and lived in Everett most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin and son, Donald.

Beatrice is survived by her children, Duane Houghton, Doug and Bernie Houghton, Sue (Houghton) Downie and Betty (Houghton) and Gordon Mercier; her four grandchildren, Heather (Downie) and Carl Lewis, Scott and Nicholas Houghton and Christina (Houghton) Quinn; and her four great grandchildren, Jacque, CJ and Ben Lewis; and one very special great grandson Joey (Downie) Cordell III. Among the family members Beatrice also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, siblings and many friends.

We would like to give special thanks to Dr Kevin Hori ("Dr. Kim"), Mike Weaver and Rob Pasmore of the Everett Fire Dept, and LifeCare Center of Bothell.

There will be graveside services with family and friends at Cypress Lawn Cemetery at 1:00pm on Thursday April 1, 2004.1

Houghton, Philip W.Philip passed away March 9, 2007 in Pueblo, Colorado. Survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary, children Donna and Philip Jr. His son, Stephen preceded him in death. He was born in 1919 to Brigadier General J.H. and Hazel Houghton at Kelly Field in San Antonio, Texas. His father was a career military officer in the U.S. Air Force. Phil lived many places. He entered the Air Force in 1953 and became a P-51 fighter pilot serving our country in WW II on Okinawa and occupation of Japan. Leaving the Air Force he accepted the position of Assistant Aerodynamicist at McDonnell Aircraft in St. Louis, Missouri. He maintained Air Force Reserve status until becoming a test pilot, both production and experimental. He accepted the position of Chief Production Test Pilot in 1956. He and Mary raised their family in St. Louis County. As family man, he enjoyed spending time in his workshop, working on cars and exploring the American West, packing up the family for camping trips in the mountains. He instilled in his children a great love of the outdoors. In 1991, he and Mary retired to Pueblo West to be closer to the children, all in Colorado. Active his entire life, Phil enjoyed tennis, golfing, skiing, hiking and bicycling. Most of all, he loved flying. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial of your choice. Mary Louise Castle

Jackson

A celebration of the life of Mary Louise "Weezie" Castle will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012, at St. Philip's Episcopal Church, 5400 Old Canton Road. Visitation will be at 1:30 p.m. followed by a Requiem Eucharist at 3:00 p.m.

Weezie died after a lengthy illness Wednesday, March 21, 2012, in the company of her daughters. She was born February 2, 1922, in Corregidor, Philippines to General Junius and Hazel Houghton. When General Houghton took command of the military airbase at Hawkins Field 72 years ago, Jackson, Mississippi, became her home.

Weezie married Henry E. Barksdale of Jackson and later Hugh Craig Castle. She was actively involved for over 50 years in community service through various organizations such as the Junior League. She avidly supported and promoted the arts with the opera and ballet holding special places in her heart. She will be remembered for her giving nature, her joy of music and dance, and the love she had for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Craig Castle, her brothers Jay, Phil, and Mike Houghton, her sisters Anne Houghton and Martha Lyell, and her grandson Craig Barksdale McIntire.

Weezie is survived by her daughters Mary Louise Barksdale, Melanie Hazel Barksdale Williams, her daughter in spirit Janice Charleston, her grandchildren Joseph Troy McIntire (Betsy), Melanie Louise Holcombe, and Allison Neville Moore, and 9 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Organ Fund of St. Philip's Episcopal Church, or to the Alzheimer's Association .
