Houghton, Philip W.Philip passed away March 9, 2007 in Pueblo, Colorado. Survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary, children Donna and Philip Jr. His son, Stephen preceded him in death. He was born in 1919 to Brigadier General J.H. and Hazel Houghton at Kelly Field in San Antonio, Texas. His father was a career military officer in the U.S. Air Force. Phil lived many places. He entered the Air Force in 1953 and became a P-51 fighter pilot serving our country in WW II on Okinawa and occupation of Japan. Leaving the Air Force he accepted the position of Assistant Aerodynamicist at McDonnell Aircraft in St. Louis, Missouri. He maintained Air Force Reserve status until becoming a test pilot, both production and experimental. He accepted the position of Chief Production Test Pilot in 1956. He and Mary raised their family in St. Louis County. As family man, he enjoyed spending time in his workshop, working on cars and exploring the American West, packing up the family for camping trips in the mountains. He instilled in his children a great love of the outdoors. In 1991, he and Mary retired to Pueblo West to be closer to the children, all in Colorado. Active his entire life, Phil enjoyed tennis, golfing, skiing, hiking and bicycling. Most of all, he loved flying. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial of your choice. Jackson

A celebration of the life of Mary Louise "Weezie" Castle will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012, at St. Philip's Episcopal Church, 5400 Old Canton Road. Visitation will be at 1:30 p.m. followed by a Requiem Eucharist at 3:00 p.m.

Weezie died after a lengthy illness Wednesday, March 21, 2012, in the company of her daughters. She was born February 2, 1922, in Corregidor, Philippines to General Junius and Hazel Houghton. When General Houghton took command of the military airbase at Hawkins Field 72 years ago, Jackson, Mississippi, became her home.

Weezie married Henry E. Barksdale of Jackson and later Hugh Craig Castle. She was actively involved for over 50 years in community service through various organizations such as the Junior League. She avidly supported and promoted the arts with the opera and ballet holding special places in her heart. She will be remembered for her giving nature, her joy of music and dance, and the love she had for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Craig Castle, her brothers Jay, Phil, and Mike Houghton, her sisters Anne Houghton and Martha Lyell, and her grandson Craig Barksdale McIntire.

Weezie is survived by her daughters Mary Louise Barksdale, Melanie Hazel Barksdale Williams, her daughter in spirit Janice Charleston, her grandchildren Joseph Troy McIntire (Betsy), Melanie Louise Holcombe, and Allison Neville Moore, and 9 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Organ Fund of St. Philip's Episcopal Church, or to the Alzheimer's Association .

The company was founded in 1989 and had a wide range of clients, including Mobil Land, Clyde's Restaurant Group, Tyson's Corner, Chevy Chase Center, Bloomingdale's, and Mazza Galleries well Presidential Inaugural Events, US Postal Service Ceremonies and The Small Business Administration Annua and l Conference. Ms. Houghton was also the owner and designer of Miracle of Lights, Northern Virginia's only drive-thru holiday light show and one of the largest of its kind in the country. Hosted by the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority and located in Bull Run Park, the show ran annually from November 1997 through January 2005.Ms. Houghton was owner of Mountain Lake Lodge Resort in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, and Lakeland Properties LLC, a land development and holding company with properties in West Virginia including over 55 acres of waterfront (lake and river) and mountain properties in Historic Harpers Ferry.Ms. Houghton began her career as founder and Vice President of Angel Mining Corporation in Lexington, Kentucky. Wallace R. Houghton, Jr., 83, of Lincoln Apartments, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2010. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Jean (Sargent) and Wallace R. Houghton, Sr. He attended Worcester Academy and served with U.S. Army in post WWII occupied Italy. He was a machinist at Norton Co. Wallace was a member of Belmont Street Baptist Church. He enjoyed flying model airplanes and daily walks in downtown Worcester. Wallace is survived by his brother, John Sargent Houghton of CA and niece, Stephanie Houghton. He also leaves many friends at Lincoln Apartments.

Graveside services will be held at Rural Cemetery, 180 Grove Street, Friday, May 21st at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation at "vfwfoundation.org" Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street is directing arrangements.
