New York, New York Co., NY, USA, NY Times: New Jersey Man Fell Dead at Mt. Vernon
Elizabeth, N.J., July 12.--The body of Joseph Houghton, who dropped dead yesterday in a real estate office at Mount Vernon, N.Y., was brought to his home here to-day. Mr. Houghton was sixty-three years old and had been connected with the Singer Sewing Machine Company for over forty years. He was a first-class machinist and invented many improvements on the sewing machine. Mr. Houghton lived at 58 Orchard Street, Elizabeth, with his wife. He was twice married and leaves three sons by the first wife.⁵
