Funeral Services will be held from Colonial Chapel, Reigle Funeral Home, 2417 S. Saginaw St., Rev. H. W. Colenso officiating. Burial in Grace Lawn Cemetery. Body will be at the funeral home. Mr. Houghton was born in Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada, August 8, 1889,
and lived in Flint for the last 45 years. He was foreman at Fisher Body Division for 17 years, retiring in 1948. Surviving are: Wife, Margaret; sister, Mrs. Alice Jones of Ingersoll, Ontario, several nieces and nephews.³

Biography

Frederick Houghton, referred to as "C" in his father's diaries, attended the University of Delaware, graduating with a B.S. in 1925, and continued his studies at the University of Pennsylvania, where he received an A.M. in 1927. While at Pennsylvania, he was an assistant in botany for the 1925-26 academic year, and during the following academic year he was an instructor of biology at Temple University. When he graduated, he too became a professor of biology at the University of Delaware.
