Well Known Stonemason Passed Away Friday after Long Illness
Mr. Isaac A. Houghton died at his residence, King St. W., yesterday, after a long illness. Deceased was 57 years of age, nearly all of which time he had spent in Ingersoll. Mr. Houghton was born about a mile and a half from where his death occurred. Deceased was widely known in town and county and highly esteemed. He was a stonemason by trade and for 28 years had been engaged in contracting. Mr. Houghton had long been a sufferer from asthma, which was the primary cause of his death. He is survived by a widow and seven children, five sons and 2 daughters. The funeral will take place on Sunday afternoon and proceed to the Ingersoll. Mrs. Houghton, Relict of the Late Isaac Houghton, Died Saturday Night.
The death occurred Saturday night after an illness of only a few hours duration of Mrs. Houghton, relict of the late Isaac Houghton. Mrs. Houghton passed away at her home, King Street West. She was taken suddenly ill about eight o’clock in the evening and her death ensued at 11:30. She was in her 62nd year and is survived by five sons and two daughters. The funeral will take place from her late residence on Tuesday afternoon and proceed to the Ingersoll Rural Cemetery. Service at the house at 2:30 o’clock. - Ingersoll Daily Chronicle, Mar 22, 1915
