Mrs. Eva Clara Hill of Ligonier st., New Florence died last Thursday at Lee Hospital. Johnstown after a lengthy illness. She was born June 23. 1900 in Dunlo a daughter of Alfred and Margaret (Crum) Houghton. Mrs. Hill was a member of the New Florence Evangelical United Brethren church and was a former cook in the Lau- rel Valley School district. Preceded in death by her hus- band James (Jay) who died in 1949, her parents, two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Hill is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Robert F. (Gladys) Shadron: two grandchildren. Robert S. and Jeffrey A. Shadron and the fol- lowing brothers and sisters; Paul and Melvin Houghton both of Windber: Stella Mader, Fred Houghton. Ethel Weyandt all of Windber RD 2; Edgar of Sidman RD; Margaret Laymon of Salix; Rayful of Canton, Ohio; Palmer of New Eagle. Washington County; and Mil- dred Miller and Calvin Hough- ton both of Wilmington, Del.
Funeral service was held Monday at the Kenneth A. Stu- art Funeral Home, New Flo- rence. The Rev. Daniel Orris was in charge and burial was in Dunmire Cemetery.
